I have an old Latitude C840 that had a bad hard drive.

Downloaded all the drivers from Dell and installed Windows XP Professional.

I was able to change the resolution with XP drivers. But as soon as I loaded the nVidia GeForce4 440 Go drivers from Dell it changes the screen size and gives me a warning about native resolutions for some screens.

They have a bios flash for the onbaord graphics so I updated the video bios and it did not change.

If I unistall the nVidia drivers I can change the resolution with the native Windows drivers and it will fill the screen. With the nVidia drivers it makes the screen smaller.

Would like to get the nVidia drivers on it as the video is choppy even when trying to move a window but am too old and blind for the native resolution that the nVidia driver set it at.

Probably something easy and was hoping on of you guys could help me out.

What exactly is the problem with the resolution? What is the native resolution, and what does it want to change it to?

Have you checked Windows Update for an updated video driver?
