So I'm thinking of buying a WQXGA screen at 2560x1600.

    System Specs

    D830
    T8300 @ 2.6Ghz
    4GB RAM
    Quadro NVS140m 256mB
    WUXGA

I have the "advanced port replicator" for the D series which appears to have a dual-link DVI output. I was wondering before I make this purchase if the Quadro NVS 140m is capable of driving a WQXGA display. I really hope it is, because as configured, this laptop is still sufficient for everything I use it for, and will be for the next 2-3 years.

Has anyone used the D830 to drive a DVI display at a resolution over 1920x1200@60hz? I've read so many conflicting opinions everywhere and haven't found a solid answer

My D830 is connected to Dell U2311H (FHD) all the time to DVI via PD01X so IMO it should support WUXGA (not much difference between them). On the other hand I doubt WQXGA is supported, at least NVIDIA doesn't say so.

P.S. If you read NVIDIA specs you may wonder how it can ever support DVI though (FHD and above). LVDS is analog, VGA is the same.

P.P.S. The DVI on the docking station looks like DVI-D Dual Link. Yet I think it's just the connector.

I don't think the dell D series dock has support for dual link DVI.
