Thinking about getting a E6400 but was wondering if the new Bios fixed the overheating problem?
Also is the overheating only with dedicated graphics? If I get integrated graphics will it not overheat?
I tried searching and reading but could not find the answers I were looking for.
    Thanks!

    See here, here and here.

Integrated graphics is definitely safe from any problems.

The problem affected mostly Intel GPU users, but the problem is solved.

Normally. this laptop has excellent cooling... to prove this, I overclocked my GPU quiet high and the laptop has no problem managing the heavy heat, so don't worry about it.

So picking either GPU is safe. Now, if you have any heating problem.. it's most likely just bad luck (manufacture problem) and Dell will be more than happy to replace the necessary parts (or make you a new laptop if needed), to solve the problem, so don't worry.

I had an E6400 with overheating caused probably by damage during transit (the laptop was bruised when it got here).

My new E6400 has no problems at all.

    Thanks for the answers!
Went on the safe side and got one with dedicated graphics ^^

Does any 800Mhz Ram work with the E6400?

Any 800MHz DDR2 PC6400 SODIMM should work. I've tried several different modules and all have worked OK. 667MHz PC5300RAM will also work, but at 667MHz.

not sure what the cl and timing is for the crucial is tho...

I could buy OCZ or corsair from local microcenter but don't want to pay tax...
as well as the fact that the corsair's are value ram
