Uh, TN does not mean thin film. TN=Twisted Nematic.

Perhaps instead of giving such a twisted discourse on LCD, providing a wiki link would work better...

downloading now..... i can't see the fixes or documentation about the improvements....

    update....
that was fast.... done updating the bios
haven't notice what was the fixes :)

    update again....
    my bluetooth mouse became buggy.....
normally, my touchpad & stick is automatically disabled when the mouse kicks in
since i have a bluetooth mouse, i just need to turn on the switch and the trackpad gets disabled

    now, on the updated bios,

upon power on, my touchpad is already disabled, even though i haven't switch the bluetooth mouse. for me to use the touch pad, i have to power on the mouse first then power off after i move the cursor for some time

it's either that or i on/off the wireless switch - which in turn also closes my wifi

i'll check if my bluetooth mouse needs driver upgrading

OUPS! calm down... When I was typing this, I had something about TFT, but decided to scrap that out and try and keep things simple... Actually that might explain the twisted part of how the text is laid out. For some reason I didn't catch that one and mixed a few things up. Thanks for correcting me, I always enjoy this. However, no reason to be freaking jerk of life. Keep your own personal problems to yourself!
    Post corrected.

P.S: I DID give a wiki link for more details.

Oh man, that reminds me of that awful last lecture in Inorganic Chemistry right before the final when my Chemistry professor tried to cram in Thermotropic, Lypotropic, Nematic, Smectic, and Chiral Liquid Crystal structures.
AHHHHHHH! Worst class ever. I never want to think about it again.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

I'll give it a try. I hope someone noticed our comments about the need to increase the chipset temperature threshold for fast fan operation. *** Update : No luck: The fan still goes to fast when the chipset / memory reaches 50C.

I upgraded the GPU driver to version 185.85 from Nvidia's site. I previously had 179.48.

The only difference I've noticed so far is that the WEI for Aero graphics is down to 3.3 from 3.4 before. I've not tested the battery life yet since Nvidia claims some improvement in power management and better integration with Vista.

New driver for Dell 1510 WLAN card and Dell 370 bluetooth card.

I don't think I'll be upgrading to the new BIOS just yet. It doesn't seem to have any significant changes or improvements that apply to my system. Even Dell calls it an "optional update".

not that i disagree with you vikram, but dell has been known to hide improvements it doesn't want to admit were previous problems, so it may be worth the update anyway.
