I ordered my E6400 a little over a week ago, and it's still listed as "In Production". Can someone tell me how long the E6400 usually takes to ship?

Thanks... upon review, I've put DCP System Manager back into my clean install and added a hot key reference.

I don't know about you, but In Canada, it was at the second stage for a week, and a day AFTER I get it, it's updated saying that I got it. So don't pay to much attention. I would expect 1 or 2 weeks. I know, I know, I also hate when companies have a delayed system, but it's like that.

Humm.. when I converter the currency form Swish to Canada, I got 2 050$ Canadian. If I did not get do a mistake, that the price of my laptop with no price negotiation done to it :/
What was the original price? My system (see signature), I paid ~1600$ Canadian before tax with free shipping.
Anyway, it might be just like that. So as long as you paid several hundred of dollar under the original price, I think it's a good deal.

oh, you know, Switzerland's about as expensive as it gets for this sort of thing... all electronics cost this much around here, sadly. the config's ok though, right?

Yes it's a great config. I would just go with 4GB of RAM (purchased form Dell or separately, which ever gets cheaper for you), but that is just me.
I use 4GB as I run Virtual system on my laptop or run memory eater applications, I do play games on my laptop on rare occasion, but most importantly I want to be sure that my HDD page file is used the least amount (I know I can disable page file, but I can't do that for my needs, I mean if I had 2GB of RAM)

Also, I would go with Vista 64-bit for having a new OS that uses all the new technology that this laptop has, and really use properly the dual core CPU, unlock the 64-bit CPU power, of course use 4GB of RAM, among other advantages.

oh, you know, the laptop's for my sister, and she'll be using it mainly for school work, surfing etc. so 2GB RAM should be ok for XP. that's why i went with the X4500MHD as well. i did order the ram on a single SO-DIMM so i can upgrade later. shouldn't be a problem, right?
