    You don't get it :(.

It's not the battery that you have to compare. It's the power draw that you need to compare.

There is a difference between real world results and calculated estimate.
The problem with your calculation is the same as Windows (and other OS) battery life calculator: "If you do what the SYSTEM is doing non stop you will have XX hours".
How many time I had my system say I had ~45min left and just stayed there for some time before dropping from 1min? When I calculated, I used my web browser, wireless on, and just surf the web until the battery drain. A little of word and programming here and there... but kept my usage of the system minimal. That is the difference in calculation. And that is why I don't have proof. The only proof I can give is give you a ~9 hours movie with a new battery for a fair test. Of course I don't have the Intel solution system to test.. so I compared which what was said here.

Notice that I never said anything about the Windows battery life estimate. I said power draw.

Lack of appreciation of subject noted.

Or more likely a CPU with unusually low idle power consumption which more than offsets the power consumption of the nVidia GPU. I don't recall any other members with the nVidia GPU reporting similar battery time.

For what it's worth, my E6400 (P8600 + Intel graphics) was bouncing between 5 and 7 hours forecast a couple of days back. That was offline with no wireless, etc.

Yup.. we all know where the system forecast says :rolleye:

And no, I don't have 10 hours. I have about 7 hours in a half with my 30% battery wear level (wireless on). When the battery was younger it was about 8 hours and the first day, based on mt stress test (using the system in a class room environment on a full school day) was about 9 hours, but never was able to replicate the week after... it was close, but no 9 hours. Seams stable now at 7 hours and half (wireless ON, CPU idle, web browser firefox open, Office 2007 Word open)

Anyway, well of course my CPU is idle, that is how you calculate battery life... else they are to many factors, and we come down to: "How much the CPU is used?", and that will/may varie from CPU to another (yours and mine for example).
Again, let me be clear... I am NOT saying that the Nvidia solution consume the same or LESS than the Intel. I know that the Nvidia consumes more. And I said it that when you go on battery the Aero experience is not as smooth, but still smooth as Intel.
The point is that there isn't 60-90min battery life difference in real world, maybe I would say 30-45min difference.

Kind of an unusual statement to make when you said that you don't have an Intel system to test? Your rejection of data contrary to your stated position is fascinating :).

Sorry, I don't have 1 million dollars to trow out of the window for another laptop and a complete lab with all the tools needed to know exactly the power consumption of each computer component. I base my result on what you guys are saying. Simple.

Yes. I had the choice of black, black or black when I ordered my E6400. If ordering now I would be tempted to add some colour.
