I just picked up a BlacX Duet external drive enclosure that supports two hard drives. I wanted to connect the enclosure to my docking station via eSATA, but I may have run into a hitch. I'm wondering if the e6410 support PMP (port multiplier) so that I can use both drives? USB supports this no problem (I think it's built into the standard), but I know that eSATA chips vary when it comes to PMP. I'm not sure what eSATA chip the e6410 uses -- my Google kung fu has failed me.

I haven't tried this yet (I need to pick up an eSATA cable), but I'm wondering if it's worth the effort if the laptop's system doesn't support eSATA PMP.

    Thanks for any info.

Did a bit more digging, and I think that the eSATA chip used in the e6410 is a ICH9M-E controller, which doesn't support PMP.

    Bummer.
