I just picked up a Latitude E6420 that bests my 6510 in every category except the screen. It has the low res screen, which has to be upgraded. However, I am used to a 1080p screen, I don't know if I can go to a 1600x900. I know sony has a 13.3'' 1080p screen, so I wonder if anyone makes a 14.1 1080p.

Anyone know if this is available? If not, anyone have the make/model of the 900p screen that dell uses?

    Thanks!

edit: wow.. does anyone know why the bezel around the screen is so damn big!?

    1. My 1600x900 is a Samsung panel. The only thing I found online was this: SAMSUNG's Digital World. The ID is SEC544B, but that's not the actual raw p/n.

    2. The only logical reason would be for it to withstand more punishment.

Probably using 13.3" panels since they're more common.

Nope. E6420 is actually oversize for a 14". The panel is exactly 14" but the chassis is about the size of my old ASUS V1Jp (15.4") minus an inch depth-wise when the lid is closed (though the battery makes it almost exactly the same).

Interesting, I had assumed 14" meant the display + bezel but never measured, thanks for correcting me.
