Latitude E6500 and Precision M4400 were basically the same machine, the differences being the M4400's (obviously) different aesthetic on the lid, the more powerful GPU options, and a handful of other tweaks that I don't really remember the specifics of.

From what I can tell, the situation looks to be about the same this time around with the 15.6" Latitude E6510 vs. the 15.6" Precision M4500. The Precision offers beefier GPU options and a 1600x900 sRGB LED display option, but I want the lower-power WLED 1080p display anyway so that's no loss.

Other than these two differences, can you guys spot any major advantages the M4500 has? If not, I might have an E6510 in my future. I don't play many games on my laptop, but hopefully the Nvidia NVS 3100M can comfortably push CS:S and TF2 at some joke-rez like 1366x768, and maybe a little bit of Starcraft2 when the time comes. Certainly not a crisis either way.

I think it's pretty much the same deal as E6500/M4400. I see some minor differences in available component choice for the two machines - Extreme processors in the M4500, more HDD options for the E6510, a second hard drive option for the M4500 - but if you're not doing anything really hardware intensive, there's no real point in getting the Precision.

SC2 will run fine on the 3100M... you can already run it playably on the 4500MHD.

The M4500 and E6510 are based on the same chassis with the main differences being the config options you mention yourself.

I haven't had any issues on my E6500 running the SC2 beta, so the E6510 should be fine.
