    My E6500 with the Intel 4500 never had any problems. Would it be worth it to upgrade the BIOS? I'd hate to lose battery life since I don't have the nVid GPU. Or is the fan setting temperature based and I should be ok still?

    You should benefit since, if the fan does need to move to a faster speed, then it will go to 3600rpm instead of 4800prm.

    I have notice that the fan reset code (Fn+Z) stop working on A19 :(
    Can anyone confirm this?

    Mine still works, just used it to put it to 0 rpm after gaming for a while.

    Plus, my fan is normally off unless I put some decent load in my E6400 (games or MATLAB). 3000 and 3600 rpm already existed on BIOS A15 for me, and now 4000 also exists (4800 was there from the start). I have the Nvidia GPU (see specs in signature below).
