Specifically, this is on my E4310
Prior to installing the secondary HDD, this was the setup:
    - Corsair F120 SSD
    - Intel RST 9.6 driver
    - BIOS: SATA connection setting to RAID

Now, I got my HDD caddy from newmodeus.com and installed my Hitachi 7k500 in there. Obviously I can't run RAID with the Corsair SSD and Hitachi SSD, so on bootup, it would show that the drives are not RAID supported. To get rid of the message, I figured I could change the BIOS setting to AHCI or SATA. With either of those settings, Windows will no longer boot, it crashes at "Starting Windows."

Any idea how to fix this? When I changed the setting around in BIOS from AHCI, SATA, or RAID, a warning message pops up saying that there may be issues with the operating system. So will I have to just reinstall Windows on AHCI setting and start over again?

    ahh bummer...
I ended up just reinstalling windows and running AHCI. Those processes looked a little too technical, figured it'd be easier to just reinstall windows and drivers since I've done that several times this past week already. Oh well, at least everything is up and running now with no problems :) Thanks though :D

Does your caddy fit perfectly? I have one in my Precision M6500. It fits, but the bezel needed some adjustment with a file and the whole caddy still is a bit jammed when inserted. And the SATA port is a bit too short, so that I can't insert the caddy completely which makes it protrude for almost 1mm.
Also does your caddy-LED work? Mine doesn't.

First time installing it, it required some force... otherwise it seems to fit about as good as the DVD burner. The SATA connector fits, so it sits flush, but there's about an extra 1mm gap on the left and right sides of the bezel. Mine didn't have an LED indicator.
Compared to the ebay HDD caddy I initially tried to install, it fits MUCH better and the HDD is actually secured.
