I got the E6320 today. My initial thinking was that the LCD screen looks a bit yellowish comparing to my E6510. 6320 feels warmer. I then looked at my old 6400. It is closer to 6510.

I also have a Mini 9 which now I discover a bit yellowish, similar to 6320. Is this normal? I remembered my old Thinkpad T60 is also yellowish when comparing to 6400 a few years back but T60 is not LED back-lit.

Perhaps you should calibrate it? I haven't noticed any of my CCFL laptops have gotten yellow (oldest is my D600, 2nd oldest is T60/Vostro 1500).

There's no such thing as a true white LED, so color variation is normal (if you own a couple LED flashlights, you'll know what I'm talking about) and calibration is the only way to improve color consistency.

I'll Google later but any proven way to calibrate in Windows 7 on both machines?

I have never tried using Windows, my friend has a Spyder3Pro which is worth the cost.

Windows has a built-in utility as well. In the Start menu, search for Calibrate display color.

I have read about WLED screens having some tint that are chemicals that have not completely cured or been out-gassed from the factory. It may clear itself up over the next few days as it runs and warms up.

Then again, all that I read could have been an excuse from the manufacturer.

I'm having another "serious" issue with 6320. The dock mic isn't working. My BIOS is A08 and it has "Mic" and "Camera" options in the BIOS. Mine 6320 does not have Webcam. The Mic is enabled in the BIOS.

There are Dock Mic, Jack Mic, and Recording showing in the "Recording" tab of the Sound in Control Panel. All normal and I've installed the up to date driver. Speakers are working but Dock Mic is not getting any input. If I plug in a USB mic, it works.

I don't think it is a software issue. I cannot believe it is a hardware issue either. Any suggestions before I call to return the machine for defective?

Does the built-in mic (and mic jack on the laptop) work, and have you set the doc mic as the default device (and default communication device)?

Make sure that the webcam is enabled in the BIOS, the E-series has a known bug where disabling the webcam disables the entire webcam board (which includes the microphone).

The built-in mic on the screen bezel is not working. My A08 BIOS has both Webcam and mic options and both are enabled. There is one earphone jack on the laptop. I do not have a jack mic to try. But the dock mic isn't working isn't acceptable.

I got the machine yesterday. I assume returning for refunds won't incur any restocking fee?
