I just received my dell refur's e4200 today! It looks very great! unlike my previous e4300, this one has better feeling , at least I don't need to wash my hand every single time after using it. ( I assume the e4300 has been re-rererererereererere furbished, so it was left too many different person's skin oils. )

Althought the fan on e4200 is running a little bit nosiy than e4300, ( I guess it has two level, one is fair, the other is loud, mine 4200 usually runs at loud level.) Also, the keyboard is really flex on the upper.

I hope I can find a cheap backlit keyboard later, and self upgrade it.

I received my Refurb E4200 too. Received a 20% coupon in email, immediately went to the outlet site and managed to snag one with a backlit keyboard! :) The keyboard is in great condition, almost like new. Can't say the same for the case, though, looks like mine might have been a corporate machine because it has adhesive residue all over the place. Corporate IT seems to always put stickers all over laptops. There was even a little bit of residue on the screen that I managed to clean up carefully. Maybe it had a privacy screen on it? Anyway, you'd think that Dell would have cleaned up the machine a little better. :(

The media bay does look untouched and brand new.

Ended up ordering a Crucial 2GB stick from Newegg. SSD seems to make the machine really snappy.

Well I see 3 options Auto, Off, & On, although I could not go to the On option for some odd reason. Brightness on the other hand I do see it but it only goes from LOW to HIGH, strangely enough. My DCP version is 1.2.0 what's your CorporateTraveller.

    Dell Canada should improve itself.

    :)

Mines 1.2.0 as well. I think it was released in late March. So far no real complaint of laptop.

I really want to find a backlit keyboard for my E4200. They were plenty of them on eBay BEFORE I bought my machine and now that I want one......no such luck!

If anyone needs a non-backlit keyboard, I have an extra.

Thanks for the guide, just installed a backlit keyboard. After i had the old keyboard off i realized it needs to come off in order to install bluetooth 365 module.... which is coming in the mail next week. I guess i do it all over then.
