First of all, I only have one dvd drive and one hard drive and nothing else. But I turned on my laptop this morning and I noticed there was a second dvd drive listed under computer...

I'm thoroughly confused. I searched online for people with similar problems but Google didn't show anything.

Have any ideas on what the error could be?

You don't have any virtual drive software such as Daemon Tools installed, do you?
