M4400 Display Upgrade Frustration

    No... the RGB LED panel is not thicker, just slightly taller. Actually its the metal fram around the panel that seems to be a slightly bit larger. The panel is also heavier compared to the original LCD. It's screwed into the lid with the metal side brackets. When it closes, it doesnt hit anything. It just looks a little ghetto without the bezel.

    Any photos of the RGB display before you installed it? Can you see any of the backlight components

    Hi all...

    I dont have a picture of it, but I can tell you that none of the backlight components are visable. There is a plastic (anti-static type material) on the back of the panel. The only visable components are the video plugs, etc.

    I'm still waiting for Dell to ship me the correct bezel. The is a different part number for the bezel that goes with this new lid. The stock bezel was about 1/4 inch too short and left a gap along the top edge of the lid. I'll post the part number and a pic after it arrives hopefully within the next day.
