    i always read the service manual before a service just in case, some of these guys dont have a clue, so if you read it you can easily tell.

    Has anyone had success of getting their m4400 replaced with an m4500 or m4600 on the basis of extreme heat/performance degradation? I don't want/need more performance, I just want the palm rest cool to touch...

    I've got a cool slice and bios A09 (fan is pretty much always on), AS5 thermal paste on cpu and gfx, and it still gets bad...

    I really like my m4400 except for the fact that the palm rest on the right side near the track pad gets hot...Why dell...why don't you test these things...
