    Hey guys,

I recently noticed that my M4400 RGB LED screen turns a strong green tint when exposed to direct sun light. It's as if the red and blue channels of my backlight completely shut off. Do other people have this problem?

That's normal. Seems like they put some kind of light sensor directly behind the screen to adjust the white point via the RGB backlight. That's a good thing, but it doesn't work very well in direct sunlight.

A workaround is to put something in front of the sensor, it should be located somewhere in the upper right of the screen. Try moving your hand in front of the screen the next time you're in direct sunlight to locate the sensor.

Ah, that makes sense. Casting a shadow over the screen solves the problem.
