    That's all?

My first one was a refurb. It included the very nice RGB-LED screen. It also included some graphics issue which caused the screen to repeatedly go blank. It was replaced with an even nicer and possibly brand new system. That system started to have graphics issues within 2 weeks. Dell replaced the MB. After that the computer started to crash on a very regular basis. Dell decided that the problem was MB related. Two or three MBs later they decided to replace the whole system. While the system was on it's way out the HD started to make a squeaking beep that is apparently some issue with the free fall sensor. Apple had the same issue based on some stuff I found. So now I'm on computer #3. This one has only required a new HD (same issue as before) and a new screen. Some how a bug (literally) got between the LCD panel and the LCD backlight. It was like having that animated bug walking on your screen gif that some websites have except it was actually inside of my screen! Looking at the way the screen is constructed I can't see how a bug would actually get inside the taped up panel. Anyway, that was replaced. A co worker has an M4400 that looks beat to hell... no issues with his. Mine looks clean other than obvious keyboard use.

Dell is always really good about fixing things but I feel like the current generation of Latitude/Precision computers just aren't made as well as the ones from a few years back. My M20 gave me very little trouble. Only a mysteriously broken "y" key on the keyboard in 5 years. It makes me question buying from Dell in the future simply due to the hassle. Also, I've had good luck with my various HP machines over the years and I rather like the newest Elite books.
