    Hello!

I have a Precision M4400 with a 15.4" WXGA 1440x900 LCD but I want to change it to a 1920x1200 WUXGA and I am having some doubts about the cables...

    The reference of mine is:LTN154bt06

and the one I want is: LTN154CT02

It says in the web the "LTN154CT02" is for M4400 but i see differences in the pictures, mine is has the connection at the bottom and the "LTN154CT02" has the connection on the top...

Does some one have some guide lines so I can change my LCD to a WUXGA ??

    Thanks in advance!!!

There are two WUXGA screens. One is 2CCFL and one is RGBLED. Either way, you're going to have to buy a new bezel, and a new lid/cable (back cover).

The RGBLED screen is LTN154CT04 (or TR217) and it's the one I would go for. The colors on it are great. It's glossy, but I don't think that's too much of a problem. I rather like the glossy finish because it really brings out the contrast in the screen. You can find them on eBay for around $149.

EDIT: also, if you want the 2CCFL screen rather than RGBLED, try to get the LG screen with part number LP154WU2(TL)(A2). It's a bit better than the Samsung LTN154CT02.
You'll need some different parts than the RGBLED though, and I'm not sure what the part numbers are. I think the back cover is the same, but the cable inside may be different and I know you're going to need an inverter.

Your best bet here may be to purchase a complete LCD assembly, in which case all you need to do is connect the display cable. To open up more opportunities, you can also look for E6500 screens. However, to be honest, I don't think it's worth it to upgrade at this point...

Depends how long he's going to keep the computer. I bought my M4400 in January, refurbished from the outlet, and I'm planning on keeping it as my main college laptop for the next 3 years.

You have the wrong bezel, although you may not need a new one. Your current screen should be a LED screen, and you can verify this by checking that there is no inverter below the LCD. Unless the RGB LED screen is very different, it should fit in your existing cover and bezel. I would cancel the orders for the other two parts.

A quick Google search shows the bezel is for both the E6500 and M4400. I just quoted a post and can't verify how accurate the information is though.

I think the new bezel is required because of the slightly different shape of the lid to accommodate the thicker(?) RGBLED screen. I seem to recall a post of someone having to use their M4400 or E6500 without a bezel for a while because they didn't know a replacement was required.

EDIT: also did you have the webcam or not?

If you don't have a webcam, there's nothing to worry about (although if you purchase a bezel with a webcam hole, it'll look strange).

That's true, but he purchased a dual-CCFL bezel.
