Just now I went to Dell website and found that the A05 bios is no longer there and replaced by A04 in June 2011. Anyone confirm this or just my browser cache issue?

Maybe they realized turbo boost is broken? :)

Or maybe because it doesn't play nice with the latest Vertex 3 firmware?

Not to get in a debate but I'm not sure turbo boost is broken. While rendering last night i watched all 4 cores go from 2.5 - 3.2 they bounced around seemed as temperature was the limited factor and caused the chip to move back down. At least with the I7 2920m...

This has happened before with the M6500. Usually a replacement bios comes out fairly quickly. I would check back in a week and see if A06 is out.

The M6600 A04 has also been pulled.

oic, I never came across manufacturer pull back bios before this, normal practice is release new bios quickly for replacement.

The owner's lounge thread is probably a better place to discuss it, but here are my tests: http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...sion-m4600-owners-lounge-101.html#post7928937 and a few others confirmed it in that thread... so at least for my configuration, it was broken.

Nope, turbo boost is broken for me as well. I used to get 2.9 Ghz on all four cores, but they now never go above 2.2.
