You can get whatever BIOS you want from ftp://ftp.dell.com/bios/

My new M4600 came with A05 too. I also noticed that turbo boost wasn't working for me. I downgraded to A04 and now I have full CPU speed when I need it. I've noticed no side effects from downgrading. Shame on Dell, they should notify A05 users.

I presume Dell are looking to fix this issue, but would I be right in saying that there are two options for customers:

    1) Go back to a previous BIOS.

    2) Wait until Dell releases a new BIOS.

    Is that correct?

Yes. With option 2, you're notebook is crippled, unable to run at full speed. Whether you can live with that until the next BIOS update, that is up to you.

made the bios upgrade, turbo core works. wifi n now still locks to 130mpb :(

spotted some hidden firepro options in catalyst powerplay center named "enable lower refresh rates"?
it was a quick seconds before it was gone..forever!

of course i am using mobility radeon drivers. I wonder if

    1. a fix to the powerplay solution coming? I discovered it is the refresh rate causing high idle clocks previous months but still not solution
    2. just a compatibility problem between firepro and radeon drivers? there is new firepro driver, catalyst 8.85, older than radeon drivers. it is 380mb! damn i give it a miss

I've noticed a problem in the A07 bios, and I was wondering if anyone else was seeing it. I've had at least three sound driver crashes in the day or so since I've installed the A07 bios, and the only solution each time seems to be to reboot the system.
