I have an M6300 with the Quadro FX 3600M. The video card ran really well for just under 3 years. 2 of those years had very heavy use. Today without warning, it failed. Screen started flickering then a blue screen (with lines and noise) and then a shutdown. On reboot I had blue line noise around the Dell post screen. Windows would not boot. Third try I got a blue screen with lots of lines and noise that said memory parity error.

Machine is still under warranty and Dell has parts on the way to me.

I only mention this because problems with the M6300's video cards seem to have been much more rare than some of the other Dell machines. I am not sure if this was one of the cards that Nvidia was having soldering issues with.

This is the first problem I have ever had with this machine and I have used the heck out of it.

Err the Quadro 3600M is based off G92M, I thought the defective bump material affected certain GeForce 7 and G84M/G84M chips..

Cool. I really had no idea. I know my M90's 3500M was affected, but it has never had a problem. It runs 24/7 these days.

Refurbished replacement card arrived. 2 of 4 mounting screws are half stripped. 1 is completely stripped. Plastic strips that cover each end where the fans are have been torn off. Going to try and salvage the screws and cover plastic from my old one.

Right heat pipe is bent and it won't fit in the machine.

    Hopefully it will work.
