I am more aggravated by the fact that they consume the drive letter D: which I have been using for years to hold DATA as a second partition on any laptop I set up. Segmenting DATA from the OS... And Dell in their wisdom of this READER stop the ability from creating another Partition on the system as you are only allowed 2 plus an extended. I currently have:
    133 MB (OEM Partition)
    750 MB RECOVERY
    124.14 GB C: (OS)
    105.88 GB Unallocated
    2.00 GB READER (D:)

I changed the D: to an F: an it will no longer work if I run the configuration of the Reader application. Apparently that drive letter is hard coded in their product (nice design dell).

If I try to assign the D: to the unallocated I get Error that maximum partitions have been created. No can do.

So I am screwed as I used the Windows Easy Transfer for Windows 7 to move files but had to skip my D: drive and now I am having some stuff not work since I do not have a D and stuff on my original machine (XP machine) used that location. Primarily my Oracle 10g Client will not re-install as I put it to the D drive on the original machine and the Easy Transfer apparently brought some settings for it along in the migration. A fresh download and install will not run with unknown errors.. The Universal Installer holds setting on past installs and I think Easy Transfer brought that info over.

So, my back against the wall it looks like a fresh install is in my future and I HOPE!!!!! I can create a D: partition during the wipe of drive and if Dell re-installs this READER it can go to a different drive letter once I use D for my own purposes. Thanks Dell for wasting hours of my time to fix their junk.

    Thanks,
    Miller
