Sorry if this has already been asked: has anyone seen or know where I can see a comparison of the IPS FHD screen on the M4600 next to a FHD screen on a Thinkpad W5200?

I don't think anybody has the new Precisions right now to do any sort of comparisons. Might have to wait a few weeks.

Review on W520 with similar specs to a M4600. Their W520 has the Quadro 2000M, so they updated their 2000M page with more benchmarks and game fps

    W520: Review Lenovo ThinkPad W520 Notebook - Notebookcheck.net Reviews
    Quadro 2000M: NVIDIA Quadro 2000M - Notebookcheck.net Tech

Can also use this (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html) to compare the 2000M with its Geforce equivalent (460M). Frame rates are almost the same, in a few instances the 2000M seem to be getting better results. Fifa 11 is the only one with a huge discrepancy, not sure why that is.

Thanks, guys. I'm not as interested in gaming stats as I am in overall display quality. I've been leaning toward the W520 w FHD but now I'm intrigued with the M4600's IPS offering. If I could see these machine's screens side by side -- or at least get an observer's opinion -- this would help me. I'm currently in S. Korea, not in a place where I can see these two machines at the moment.

[EDIT] Thanks, ksna, for the links to the reviews. Helpful.

I've seen ThinkPad W510/W520 FHD, Precision M6500 RGBLED and EliteBook 8740w DreamColor 2 (IPS) side by side in our lab. I would subjectively rate the screens in that order, with the 8740w IPS highest.

I am looking forward to having the new M4600 IPS in my bag. :)

Will the 4600 have a better screen than the x500 Dell's?

^^^ I would rate IPS better than RGBLED. Have I seen an M4600 IPS in person? Not yet -- at this time, not too many people have.

(BTW, you should be specific: "x500 Dell's" were available with various screen options, RGBLED being one. Ditto, "4600" has 3 display options of different quality and pixel density, IPS 1900x1080 being one.)

Yeah, you got what I meant by my cryptology. :D I am looking at the top of the line display options from the Dell Precision, Thinkpad W520 and HP EliteBook brands.
