3dstudio Max and AutoCAD both work very well on my AMD Firepro 8900. I have not had any problems with them, in fact my M6600 completely blows my desktop out of the water in terms of rendering speed.

I have a question about Docking Stations with the M6600.

Does the M6600 work with the older version E-Port Plus (PRO2X) docking stations or does it only work with the newest version (PRO3X)?

I was thinking about buying a refurbished docking station but I want to check compatibility first. What changed from the PRO2X version to the PRO3X version?

Yes M6600 works with E-Port Plus (PRO2X) (I have two of them) but there is no USB 3 support on docking station.

Im no expert but I think ATI cards are optimized for gaming while NVIDIA cards are optimized for CAD via CUDA and the fact that NVIDIA cards are CAD certified or whatever and ATI cards are not I would go with NVIDIA plus considering the 3000 is free why not

How the cards work in 3d programs such as Max Im not sure but it seems logical that a gaming card would be good for that but I could be way off on that I use both programs and many more with a dinosaur 5 y o xps thats obv geared for gaming but it does the job

There are countless previous posts about this issue and Ive heard claims that ATI works great in CAD and MAX also worth noting that the 3000 is a pos imho and I think the numbers support that in relation w the 4000 and 5010 and I think even some of the ATI numbers kill the 3000 in some aspects How that translates in the real world though is debatable

I noticed you keep getting ignored and I feel your pain so I figured Id offer my thought

You could do this, but not in BIOS.

In BIOS, you could activate/deactivate the RAID mode (choose AHCI or IDE mode).

To control the RAID controller, you must press Ctrl+I when posted on the Intel boot screen.

It doesn't have to be Dell-branded.

I installed a Sierra Wireless MC8801 in mine.

Only glitch is that it doesn't show a cellular device is installed on the BIOS screens, but it works perfectly fine.
