Yeah, I don't touch the palm rest most of the time as well, but when I do, a rough surface is just so much more appealing. I'm more or less decided on getting a m6700 when it's out though, as it comes with 3 years nbd warranty by default, while alienware only 1 year and cost a lot more to upgrade to 3 years. 3 years warranty would be quite essential as I would need the international warranty, going to be traveling between US and Asia quite a lot.

Hoping that they could have the orange color precision again, it just looks so much sexier than the grey version.

I just bought a Crucial M4 to use as the boot drive in my M6600 along with a standard HDD 7200RPM for my media files (no RAID setting). I'm planning on reformatting everything and installing a brand new version of Win 7 Ultimate.

    1. How should I set the BIOS entry "integrated SATA hard driver controller"? ATA, AHCI or RAID?
    2. Should I install the Intel Rapid Storage driver?
    3. Is there any other important setting I should know of?

I just read the following post and am confused..

Set it to AHCI if you have an SSD and you're not using RAID.

Yes, it works at usb 3.0 and 2.0 on multiple computers.
The M6600 recognizes thumb drives, other external hdds(also unpowered) as well as keyboards and mice and such. I don't have any other USB 3.0 devices however, so I haven't been able to test that.

He states that his M6600 has an IPS display but also says:

    Does that make sense?

Does someone know why the LG screen is only 6bit? I checked it in HWINFO.

Most non-IPS computer screens are 6 bit, unfortunately :(

I am hoping someone can help, I happened to be in Device Manager, and I noticed under Other Devices I have a COM# with an exclamation point, saying

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

Which I tried, but it could not find anything. How can I figure out what this device is and how to get a driver for it? I am pretty sure I have been in this before and it was not showing as without a driver. Thanks.
