I have just bought Kingston HyperX 2x4Gb = 8Gb bus 1600Mhz , i installed in my m6500, cpu is 920xm, i read technical specification " Intel Core i7-920XM Quad-Core processor supports memory frequency up to 1600 MHz. All other Core i7 Quad-Core processors support memory frequency up to 1333 MHz only, even if memory modules of higher frequency are installed."

but i cant get my laptop with 1600, it just received 1333mhz, do u know how?

If you have older 1333mhz ram in the machine along with the 1600mhz ram, it will run at 1333. Try installing JUST the Kingston HyperX ram.

Is it XMP RAM or JEDEC RAM?

Put up the model number of the RAM.

From the model number posted above (KHX1600C9S3P1K2/8G), it appears to be JEDEC RAM, with some Kingston magic called 'PNP'. It does not appear to be true XMP memory.

For XMP memory, I would think KHX1600C9S3K2/8GX would have been more appropriate, and would likely resolve the issue and run at a full 1600.

Manufacturer notes on timing profiles for this RAM:

    XMP TIMING PARAMETERS:

    • JEDEC: DDR3-1333 CL9-9-9 @1.5V
    • XMP Profile #1: DDR3-1333 CL7-7-7-20 @1.5V
    • XMP Profile #2: DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-27 @1.5V

    Here it is at NewEgg:
    Newegg.com - Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model KHX1600C9S3K2/8GX

NOTE: My assumptions above are pre(as)suming that the M6500 supports XMP memory profiles, but apparently not PNP memory profiles. If you can confirm that in the specs, you will confirm what I said above.
