Its a generic battery and it looks like its rated at only 73Whr's. The genuine D620/D630 battery is 85Whr's. It is much cheaper though so it might be worth the risk.

What does 73whr mean? Also, how much is the genuine one?

Ok so I did a google search and apparently this brand of battery is really good. I think I might get it. But is the 85whr worth the extra $30?

You should definately get a Dell OEM battery, aftermarket ones are not worth the money. They don't last as long, fail much quicker, and could potentially damage your system. I've been able to find new Dell OEM batteries in the $40 range.

I have both the 6-cell and the 9-cell, and there are both advantages and disadvantages. The 9-cell is quite heavy, and it muffles the speaker. My 6-cell (original one that shipped with system in 2008) lasts about two hours. I only put in the 9-cell when I need maximum battery life.

But that brand of battery that I posted in those ebay links has gotten excellent reviews, and they have been out for quite some time now. Hmm...decisions decisions.

They may be a better aftermarket brand than others, but theres no way they are better than OEM. Problems with aftermarket batteries don't happen immediately, the reviews aren't done long term.
