Webcam software is called Dell Webcam Central and is said to be available on My Dell Downloads (link). Also I think it was posted somewhere in XPS L702X thread.

FPR software is called DigitalPersona and there's a Dell edition, which is not available for download at all. I got it on a CD, after I called Dell and asked about it. Let me share it with you (link) :) Once installed, it should find updates on-line (latest version is 5.30).

cc69, no problem, but it seems it's not possible to PM you right now (try User CP -> Edit Options -> Messaging & Notification -> Private Messaging). When you sort it out, feel free to PM me. You might also consider asking the question in the thread - if it concerns the Vostro series or Dell in general, then perhaps other people using or wanting to get a Vostro can benefit from the discussion. Up to you ;)

    Hi All,

Thinking of getting either the 3350 or the 3450 with i5. But I would like to ask everyone if they can tell me which of these two, if possible, can be upgraded to quad core i7 later?

    Much thanks in advance.

Not that I know of. You would be able to switch between other i5 CPUs, but not from an i5 to a i7.

I was thinking of replacing it myself a little later, not through dell. Even that is not possible? Can the board not support i7 Quad?

I dont' think the chipset on the motherboard supports an i7 CPU.

Hi, I can't say for certain about the 3450, but the other day I forgot my AC adapter in the office, and managed to squeeze out a just about 5hrs 10 mins with heavy word processing and coding, occasional code compiling, LCD at I think 33%, and WiFi on. I think I had no more than 5% of battery left.

    This was on my 3350.

Sorry, I meant with the 4-cell. Notebookcheck reported est 7.5 hrs with normal usage on a 8-cell battery. I am reporting 5 hrs on a 4-cell battery, under "normal" to "light" usage.

I have the 3350 in my signature because that's the notebook that i own and use.

    Hello all, i have a latitude e6520, FHD, i5, NVS4200 m, and i'm thinking about getting a vostro 3350.

The e6520 is very good, no noise, no heat.
But when i'm writting with it, i don't like the numpad in the right.
I'im not really in front of the screen.

    I can buy the 3350 for 679€ with I5 2430M , 4 GO RAM , 8cell, backlit and 3 year warrantly D+1.

    I'm using autoacad, but i don't need a monster.

My only request is total silent (no fan) when i use word (i have a ssd = no noise).

Does the 3350 correspond to me ?
    Thanks
