I ordered mine several weeks ago and it hadnt moved passed "order received". I finally got a response from Dell this morning who informed me that there are currently parts shortages and "technical problems". Cant get a delivery date and they say it wont be in production for a couple of weeks

I have a question, I am considering buying this laptop, but I am wondering if the wwan card can be unlocked to work with all carriers? Or if not, can I replace it with another wwan card?

And can anyone tell me what the real-life battery life is for the model with the ULV SU7300 processor and fully packed with all extras?

Another querey - can anyone reccomend a laptop sleeve in which this machine fits snugly? I gather the power supply is also rather small?

    Cheers again.

That seems really odd. I placed my order a few days ago and it is already listed as "in production" with an estimated delivery date of Feb 1.

The dimensions are only a few millimeters off from the MacBook Air. When I receive my v13, I plan to get a suede jacket and/or sleeve case from Waterfield Designs (www.sfbags.com).

My order was a 'work in progress' for a week and went into production yesterday, with delivery scheduled 12 days after that. I think if it's ion production now, the likelihood is I will get it early.

Gutted about finding out about the Levono x100e - if I'm not satisfied with the Dell then I know which laptop I'll dump her for. :D

Same wavelength GGR! I'd probably have an x100e on order too if the Turion Neo X2 L635 were available. Everything about the V13 appeals to me except battery life and GPU, but everything about the x100e appeals to me except the thickness and possible heat issues. Heck, even the Alienware m11x is on my radar screen, but if heat is a problem in the x100e, that beast might make toast!

I plan to use the V13 for several months until the other models shake out and have real world user reviews. I would have waited on the V13 as well, but the reviews in this thread (especially Catennacio's & KLOVER's thorough posts) convinced me it is worth buying.

Hi guys, this is regarding the SIM card.

sorry but I am a little confused after reading the previous postings on the SIM card.

I am an existing mobile broadband user. At the moment im using the HSDPA modem to get connected.

    My questions are:-

    1) Does the Vostro V13 has got built-in HSPDA modem ?

    2) If yes, do I need to remove the cover and install the SIM card inside the slot ? Or, I can just put my SIM card inside the provided slot for 5-in-1 card reader or 34 mm ExpressCard.

    Thanks for the help.
