Question: One thing that is a must for me are Virtual Desktops, and Quadro's have them with Nview...works great. Question: do non-Quadro nvidia cards support Virtual Desktops now? (allow the running of Nview...I had thought way back this was Quadro Only)

    thanks

There's dozens of alternatives for nView out there, some of them free. No need to long for that clunky and dated nView (I think this hasn't been updated in a couple of years now). Some of the alternatives are pretty sexy, too, if you are into that kind of thing, with 3D rotation similar or better to what is available on Macs, etc. Bing is your friend...

P.S.: I think you can run nView on non-Quadro cards, too, but I only have Quadro cards myself, so I'm not sure. Worth a try if you must have nView.

P.P.S.: Just found this on nVidia's website: "NVIEW for XP will continue to be supported on both Quadro and GeForce, whereas the new NVIEW for Vista is a Quadro-only feature"

Just wanted to know if it worked for non Quadro cards.....I use nView for work daily....nView works fine for me for many moons....I just need to keep a VM on a separate desktop....don't need to install something else really unless it's free and whiz bang and super stable, then I might download it....:p

A friend was asking me.....doesn't matter to me....I have all Quadro cards too except one laptop and work ain't getting anywhere near that machine...lol....thanks Pirx

I like Windowspager. It's really a simple, 4 virtual desktop program that I put in my startup folder. It works with every card I have tried it on, WinXP and Win7.

I've tried a couple of these type of programs and have settled on Dexpot. It's frequently updated, so the developer is very active.
