Screen resolution on New Vostro 3400 and 3500?

I would so buy the 3300/3400 if it offered a higher resolution at a good price.

 

Ditto, what's up with the configurations as well?

If you want a different color you have to choose a higher end preconfig.
If you want a backlit keyboard on the base model you can't.
If you want higher processor you have to choose a pricey high end preconfig.

I thought the whole point of mail order/online order is to be able to configure models with the options you want.

Dell is pissing me off with this crap.
