Slot-loading DVD drives are much louder; so, tray-load it is.

Dell may want to send you and Bokeh a commission check. I have a feeling I will soon be owning an M6600. Between your responses here and the Bokeh review, I cannot see not owning this machine

tray-loaded. i have both types, and the slot loaded one always scares me whenever i put a disc in. i feel like i'm pushing it too hard and am going to break the gears that load/eject the disc...

An interesting (to me, anyway) phenomenon here. The vote is 11-7 for Tray load so there are 7 slot-loader preferences. yet, only one actual comment is from a slot-loader.

^ I noticed that too tonyt487, must all be hiding! Anyway, I do think we should point out how often we use the DVD player because like I mentioned in my previous post I woud prefer something else there, but then I only use mine once or twice a year.

In fact the last time i used it was back in March when I stayed at a hotel which had a CD library. Was great to listen to the different albums available, and using my laptop had one very big advantage over using the in-room entertainment system. ;-)

I don't really have a preference and I use mine for 30-40 hours some months for DVD playback and DVD creation and I have only had one drive fail and it was a tray load.
