still some confusion on m4600 or m6600.
is both are same apart from screen size?
    that is 17 and 15.5?
can i do all the upgrade in m4600 when compared to m6600?

Yes the M4600 is 15.6" while the M6600 is 17.3", both machines are already quite bulky. You need to ask yourself, do you prefer 15.6" or 17.3". The cooler is going to be better in the M6600, and it also offers higher end GPU upgrade options vs the M4600.

If you prefer 15.6" and don't wish to spend a whole ton and doesn't look like you need serious graphics power, you can take a look at the Latitude E6520. Precisions are for people who do CAD, photo editing, stuff that needs serious graphics power. If you don't need that extra kick for graphics power, you can get a 15.6" Latitude with a quad core CPU.

    thanks for your quick reply.
    still some doubts..
if i choose Latitude E6520, if i want to upgrade my processor will it support all kind of qm and xm processors?
will this Latitude E6520 supports more than 8gb ram?
is this Latitude E6520 supports 1920x1080 and is this the highest pixel in this model?
how many memory slots will be there? 2 or 4?

for the below usage, what are specs/features i have to add in Latitude E6520 along with the default one?
    1. virtual machines
    2. oracle database
    3. windows os
    4. all kinds of programming
    5. unix and linux os
    6. watching movies

if i get a reply from you now...i will ask my brother to buy this model today itself from singapore. i can get good discount too from dell...

    thanks

I am an Archi Draftman just got this M6600 with the same spec today 20 Sep 2011, but with a better LCD Panel 17.3" FHD (1920x1080), and same NVIDIA(R) Quadro(R) 3000M with 2GB GDDR5 1

Will be loading these 3D Solid CAD for BIM Applications:
    Vectorworks Designer and Rendering 2012
    Bentley Architecture V8i
    Revit Architecture

Any User experiences I have to watch out? I mean hardware limitations. Comments. Rgds.

As others have said, get the higher resolution screen.

If you're going to be doing lots of VM work, you want lots of RAM. Get a quad core so you can use all 4 RAM slots... 16GB is easy to do cheaply with 4x4GB modules. An SSD (or two) to run your VMs from also makes a huge difference in the performance of the VMs.

E6520 has two RAM slots. A quad will probably run in the E6520, but I wouldn't advise it because the cooling system isn't built to support it... This is why Dell won't sell you one with a quad in it. Yes, the 1920x1080 is the highest resolution screen.
