    Hi,

I am shopping for a dell Latitude E6500 to replace my Latitude D820. I am having a hard time finding a E6500 with a WUXGA screen at the dell outlet site.

Does anyone know if I can take the WUXGA from my D820 and put it in the E6500.

The screen size is the same 15.4".

    Thanks

If you don't mind spending a little extra you can get a Precision m4400. It's basically a E6500 with a better graphics card. I've seen a lot of those on the outlet with WUXGA screens - both 2CCFL and RGB-LED.

Thanks I hadn't considered that. Too bad there was a 15% coupon that expired last week.

    Also
For the e-series (Latitude and Precision), you'd need a new screen back plate (lid assembly basically) and screen bezel. The WUXGA parts are physically a little thicker and taller than the the WXSGA+ or other screens. So if the screen worked you'd need 2 more parts to hook it up.

But I'd still get the m4400 with the screen already there - Dell will service it if you ever need it.
