    Hi,

I am trying to use a Latitude D630 docked in a PR01 port replicator with a KVM switch. The problem I am having is that the video signal is not displayed using the PR01 DVI port.

The Latitude D630 itself does not have a DVI port, however, when docked in the PR01, the port replicator has a DVI port that will display a video signal when connected directly to a monitor. When the KVM switch is placed in line between the PR01 and the monitor then the DVI signal is not displayed.

If the same setup is used with a different KVM switch, ie, a VGA enabled KVM switch then the video signal is displayed. I have tried using different DVI inputs on the KVM switch but without success.

Any help or advice to resolve the issue most appreciated.

    Rgds

Does connecting the laptop directly to an external monitor via DVI work? Which graphics card do you have, and what is the date of the driver?

It might be the KVM, I have two setups, and to say the least, they can be awfully finicky.

The laptop itself does not have a DVI port, the DVI port is available from the port replicator when the laptop is docked.

If the DVI output from the port replicator is connected directly to the monitor then there is a signal to the monitor when the laptop is docked.

The graphics card in the laptop is the nVidia Quadro NVS 135M and the driver is v. 6.14.11.119 dated 28/04/2007

    Thx

If the laptop works independent of the KVM, then that means there is a compatibility issue with the KVM.

Your video driver is rather old, try updating it with the latest version from Nvidia and see if it helps.
