Depending on where you live the 3700 may have a Glossy screen, not an anti-glare. Not sure why they chose the screen type by region.

YEp. I was wondering about that; the features at that price and weight seemed pretty damned awesome to me. Not that 6.6 pounds is too heavy for a 17 inch like that, but sub-6 was really impressive.

    Guess I am still wondering...

yeah, 6.6lbs is still good for a 17", just not great.

new unboxing video of the Vostro 3700 on youtube:

YouTube - Unboxing and reviewing Dell Vostro 3700

Also, regarding the notebookcheck temps, I bet they wouldn't be so bad with an i5 (which is what I would get if I decide on the 3700).

I bet battery life would be better with the i5 as well. Also, if Dell has a bunch of pre-loaded cr@p running in the background, a clean install might help battery life too.

It's still the lightest 17" laptop out there (well, tied with the MBP 17), has a backlit keyboard available and a matte screen for the office but a decent dedicated video card for light gaming.

Any owners want to chime in here?
