I found these drivers in the chipset category but have no idea what they are for. They're listed as recommended but i can't seem to install them. I get a message saying my system doesn't have the requirements for this software or something.

    Any ideas?

I think they're for the Intel AMT system management features that get disabled unless you buy the machine as an enterprise customer ...

Dunno if there's any way to re-enable them through BIOS or other sneaky methods.

    Hi there,

Is it related to Intel Vpro technology?

    Regards,

Guys, learn how to use Google. AMT is Intel's Active Management Technology and it only works with CPUs that support vPro technology.

And vPro must be enabled in the BIOS from my understanding.. but only Dell can do it.

I did use google as i always do. It's just that the things i found there didn't tell me anything about if or what i could do with it. Things like Dell having to enable this and such, which i found out by answers here. :D

Resurrecting an old thread here, sorry...

The stupid thing is that Dell lists these as "urgent" for my M4400, but they won't install!

"These" being both the AMT Heci and the AMT SOL/LMS

You don't have the feature, so you can ignore it. Many of us, don't have it. It's an Intel features aimed at specific businesses.

The Dell DCP Security drivers must be installed first before you can install the Intel AMT drivers. I've left these off both an E6400 and E6410. A broadcom USH device remains banged in Device Manager. I disabled that there. No issues. No vPro and not using AMT.
