Can you give wprime1024 a run too with temps?

I'm having the exact same issue with you that PCIE degradation showed in the ESPA test. That is after my area 51m burnt and dell giving me a replacement of the GPU.
After that, I found my gpu benchmarking abnormally in 3DMark, games also show a little bit lag especially in high demanding ones
So, I took it apart finding inside connectors which connect with MB and the DGFF card, I found this. It appears the connector functioning as pcie connection has a pin missed. Dell promised me to replace the connector. I'm really worried about more issues coming up...What a shame!

Can you post a picture of that connector and the missing pin? By the way, your images are not visible. Use imgbb to host them.Last edited: Apr 22, 2019

Is your machine a new version or you are still using the first batch equipment?

I'd imagine I have one of the first A51ms built.
Also plenty of SSD upgrades here

Sorry, you can find the pin image here in the google drive -

So after replacing this, did it fix your problem? -
My new motherboard, GPU and heat sink are arriving tomorrow. I will take a closer look at the connector the next time I take it apart and if there are missing pins then i'll ask them to ship one for me as well. Let's see. The strange part is though that there is no performance issue or any error messages which I find really weird.
-
So in your case, did you find any performance down for the 2080 graphics
-
ePSA is included as part of BIOS, if they say that then I presume even A51M is DOA otherwise they can't test conflicting hardware w/o adding Dell fixes to BIOS. You can live with the problem and simply swap the mobo when current one is dead because you're covered.Rei Fukai likes this.

Nope. None. It's flying like a bat out of hell lol and crushing my games at ultra settings. The only issue that I have with it is that it touches 87 degrees under full load which is a little uncomfortable for me to digest, considering the form factor and longevity.
-
But what I don't like is the fact that it came through a renowned reseller and they were NOT able to identify this problem before sending over the unit. I paid them the extra bucks for nothing really! How stupid of me! I really feel annoyed and probably will buy directly from Dell the next time if I have to do all the hard work myself.

What is your 3DM Firestrike score at max oc vs. others?
-
I haven't checked, but i'm getting between 330-350 FPS peak on heaven on extreme settings which is insane. GPU core clock at 2100 MHz and Memory at 7001 MHz.Last edited: Apr 23, 2019

After seeing your case, my new worry is that the graphic performance down may not be related to the pcie degradation.
-
It could be thermal related as well. I have a delidded 9900K with liquid metal between the dye and copper IHS so there is not that much cross heat coming from the CPU side to the GPU and the whole thing is re-pasted with Kryonaut and FujiPoly Extreme 17w/mk thermal pads.
-
Could you check your numbers of pcie lanes for your GPU using GPU-Z please. Mine is 4 which is not right
-
No this one is all stock, no OC with just undervolt. This is how I use my system. I don't like balls to the wall approach unless that's REALLY needed for some tasks.

This might be abnormal, anyone here can upload a normal 51m 2080?

Could you share a GPUz screenshot of your beast? @ ThatOldGuyLast edited: Apr 23, 2019

I will. Right now I am changing the IHS of my 9900K again as I had previously installed an 8th Gen IHS which was not seated well and I had to fill up the base with silicon to make it seal around the edges. But I wasn't finding peace of mind carrying this thing around as the IHS slid a little to the front when closing the socket and I was afraid that there will be a little gap created between the IHS and the circuit board which will allow liquid metal to leak, and that's exactly what had happened. Didn't leak though as I had not put in a puddle in the first place but you never know with liquid metal. Now that I have a 9th gen copper IHS, I'll be more at peace and will seal this thing overnight to make sure it doesn't slide when I'm installing it in the socket.

Today was a little hotter and on performance mode cooling my RTX 2080 managed to reach 84 degrees on metro exodus.
Don't know if this is healthy for the machine. But I will continue using it like that. If something happens I guess warranty is there to fix it.
CPU still amazing though 9700K barely reaches 70 during gaming.SlickDragon, pathfindercod and Rocktaze like this. -
Mine is stock too, no UV in that run.
48XX-49XX seems to be about right for stock 9900K.
While I'm not @ThatOldGuy here's mine.
Be sure to put a load if you want to see x8 3.0 otherwise mine says x8 1.1 on idle.
-
That's problem here, mine with the PCIE degradation issue shows 4 pcie lane active in GPU-Z. BTW, scores only 3900 in Time SpyRei Fukai likes this.

You have a 2080? I think this was stock TS with undervolt GPU:

Should be getting 9-10k at least. Did you check to see what your clocks are running at during the benchmark? -
I just took apart mine to look at the DGFF connector and it seems to be fine with no missing pins. There is something else going on here!! Why the hell I'm getting x4 instead of x8 is beyond me.

I'm getting my replacement mobo and gpu tomorrow so let's see how that goes first. It's a pity though that I'll most likely have to buy a new windows 10 pro license.
-
Not needed. Win 10 checks dev-id and not your serial number and service tag.
-
How the device id is going to stay the same with a new motherboard?
-
Really? This is the first time I'm hearing this. Never knew that censorship existed in this community as well.
-
He should now be able to post official feedback on the current status. I expect he know by now what was the problem. And it's He himself that speaks openly about full transparency. Just say you are covered by the Dell warranty ain't good enough.
-
I wonder what did HIDevolution "check" in my laptop before shipping this machine out. I'm really pissed at how things happened and if I don't get my problem fixed then I'll tell Dell to send me a totally new laptop that has none of these problems. If not, I'll get my money back.

How you get your new motherboard anyway?Dell replacement?
-
How can you be sure a new laptop won't have any flaws? It's a tech product. Regarding HID tech... They are just human, bruh. All can make faults. They have from what I know already posted an apology in this thread.
From what I can see... You was only able to shave of 1C degrees on graphics temp with your thermal works. And remember it was Dell which failed deliver in first place. They pushed out this model maybe too early. Only time will tell. But it's about time Dell and Azor stand up and say exactly what the problems is/was with this model.

Okay I am feeling a lot of sarcasm here in this post...I really hope they're not planning to block XTU in a future BIOS update.

It would be nice if they included the Epsa check in their "tests." I mean, do they even test anything aside from turning it on to see if it works?
I can't imagine they spend much time testing each machine as this would take a lot of time and resources.S.K likes this. -
Normal it s 8 and you have 4
-
They should know their developers are also using Intel XTU driver and dll to read/write to CPU registers.
@unclewebb can you spoof TS as a ghost NSA Spy tool to bypass security measures set by OEMs to kill TS like tools? -
-
Its just for warranty claims and parts replacement! GPU won't get tested at all that extensively.
