I have LG Panel and it is one of the best screens I've ever looked at and has 0 backlight bleeding.

Thanks bro, I trust your opinion 100%. Now, I'll be fine no matter which panel I get, just need Hidevolution to send me a a fully functional laptop which doesn't crap out in 3 days! :) It seems with this laptop, it either dies in 3 days or it runs like a beast! So, I'll take this 50% chance because there is no other laptop out there which gets my juices flowing.

Negative energy attracts negative crap into your life. Put a guardian on your thoughts and don't let any negative thought exist. Keep thinking that this or that might happen and it WILL! Speaking from experience.

On a side note, yes, whichever panel you get is superb! I wouldn't even bother checking to be honest. This coming from someone who's had MSI 120hz panels for the past 2 years, they are CRAP compared to this and I thought they were the best panels made ever since sliced bread.

How do I change it's frequency and timing though? The RAM is 2133Mhz G.SKILL. There's no option in BIOS or AWCC for me to modify RAM stuff.

Setting vRAM higher than 1900Mhz starts artifacting even when I was on AC. Maybe the voltage curve might help?

Could you PM me how your curve looks like or post here?

Killer 1650 is in; time to test. I’m assuming it’s fine if the black and white cables cross over? Also, why the hell did they flip the main and aux order on the 1650 from the 1550?

Not terrible but you can get higher I'm sure.

My current record for 9700k/2070 is 20.2K FS and 22.6K graphics. This is of course after hours of benching and tweaking the system.

20K graphics is pretty decent though. Just keep tweaking, I'm sure you can get it higher.

It's branded Intel wifi card and Intel used to have opposite order for the contacts. Maybe Killer Network finally have given up distance themselves from Intel (be themself) :D Whats the point buy Killer anymore? All you get is Intel card included their own Bloatware

I just swapped out my 1550 for the 1650 a few days ago, and I definitely didn’t go by the colors on the card—I matched whichever cable was connected to AUX on the 1550 to the AUX connector on the 1650. IIRC that meant I attached the black cable to the white-labeled connector on the 1650 etc. And from what I can tell it’s working perfectly fine. So, I think you have it opposite of what I did—let us know if it works. I’ll take another look at mine to make sure I’m not mis-remembering.

Really? I definitely just matched by color and mine is working fine so far. That’s crazy. So which is the correct way ?

Edit: I take that back, it looks like my connection is cutting out randomly

You should be able to set RAM in XTU!?

The curve is unique to each core as it depends on the GPUs ASIC quality and vBIOS, but it´s best to let it switch voltages smoothly up and down, to avoid major bumps, and then cut it off at your minimum stable voltage at the max clocks (e.g. clock-block v3: ≤2100Mhz):

So I swapped the aux and main around and it works great now. So everyone needs to make sure to plug the black and white cables into the opposite color on the 1650 lol

I didn’t read it, just went off color. The old intel cards from a few years ago never had labels, just color. That’s the last time I swapped a WiFi card many years ago.

This did not resolve my issue sadly. The main problem I have with attempting to install the latest OC drivers with any method provided by Dell or others have resulted in the image attached. Even uninstalling Microsoft C++ Redistributable 2017 and re-doing the entire process of uninstalling AACW, OC Controls, rebooting, and reinstalling then (with AACW first) results in the same error. If I uninstall only the C++ 2017 and reinstall the OC controls, it asks to restart. When I restart, it doesn't even install OC controls.

The older version of OC controls has ZERO hassle with installation. I have used even Revo uninstaller to remove everything related to ACWW and it doesn't work.

I should start backing my system up, usually just do a full reinstall when things start acting up.

Do you use W10 built in back up?

Frank said no 1440 in the 51m. They don’t make the panel that will fit the ultra thin bezel of the 51m.

There are no narrow bezel panels currently other than the ones that currently come in the A51M.
It was not until recently there have been been high refresh 4K panels for desktops. They are pretty expensive and also their components (PCBs etc) are larger than normal displays.

Anyone notice the fans randomly spinning up real quickly on the latest bios? Happens during dead idle moments, just a quick rpm jump and back down to silent. Temps don’t jump either.

You will want to place it on a seperate drive, You can get a TB3 or USBC External drive. Or just get a decent 2.5 SSD and place in your 2.5 slot this is what I did I placed a Samsung PM883 7.6 TB for backups. I would suggest getting at least the size of your main drive or raid size?

    Okay, thanks.

    I replaced the 1TB SSHD with my 1TB MX500 2.5" for storage/games.

Would it be okay to create a partition on that drive for a backup?

I also have a 1TB external HDD I could use. Would creating a backup on either erase the contents of the drive?

You can backup to either of those as long as you have space available and yes create a folder like a51backup and make sure to select that folder when you chose location to backup to. Note that the external HDD will take much longer to backup to and also slower to reload when/if needed?

You have a Samsung PM883 7.6TB?!? Dang man that is one expensive drive haha. I mean I have lots of SSD's between my laptops and desktops that add up to that high and more but in one drive dang. How long have you had that beast ssd?

Alright thanks, and excuse my ignorance. It's about time I start backing things up and not just clean install every time.

I'll probably set it up on my 1TB MX500 then. Do I need to create a new partition on it, or just make a folder? The whole drive is just a single partition at the moment.

I have had it since release. so 6 months?

I am not a big fan of Partitions on my OS drive, that's just me. If you don't have enough space on the 500 then I would use the external, just shut off sleep mode as it may take several hours to complete.

Tuck the longer black cable under the white one to make it seat better.

It depends. With smaller OS drives there is no need to do partition. But if you have a 1 or 2 TB one then it's better to make separate partitions. Keeps the clutter down as well which can mess up the OS drive if you keep everything on the desktop or my documents folder.

I use clonezilla and backup my boot partition as a compressed archive. Works like a charm. Being a linux based utility it has tonnes of features that I find really useful i.e., cloning raw drives, moving a drive image to a big partition on another drive and vice versa etc. Boots from a USB so you don't have to do any preparations inside the OS.

AliExpress. Perfect fit. I have to admit the dye they have made for cutting these layers is really precise! I have used just this part of the cover though, haven't covered up the sides, bottom panel and the screen top (The screen is going back in a few days anyway so won't waste it on that).

Are these laptops turning yellow over time? I never wrest my palms on this laptop so I’m hoping it stays white.

Nice! I wish DBrand would start producing 51m skins, doesn't look like they will though. May have to try one of these out as the only other vendor has strange colors.

Been thinking about picking up a screen protector as well.
