Because manufacturers dont make those in a portable format. Dell does not manufacturer PSU's themselves and like all other manufacturers they outsource those. Dell uses Delta, but you also have Chicony and a major players that does the PSU's for a lot of brands.

The benefit in my opinion of two psu's is that you can take a smaller lower power one when you're traveling or going to a meeting. IMHO putting a 780W PS on the table at a meeting would be silly.

You would need a tuned 8950HK mobile chip or a tuned k-sku desktop chip(current generation chips in the 51m only).

That indeed is a good one for sure. But the main disadvantage would be when you've need to show a tech demo or need to render something on the spot. It becomes a lot harder, cause the powersupply can not supply enough power. But you still would be much more portable than lugging two poweradapters with you.

One 330W will supply more than enough power for something like that. Just turn off any overclocked profiles. You will be at about 74% full system power. Should be able to even play most AAA games fine at near max settings at about 45-75 FPS

Not much actually needs the full power of the RTX 2080 + i9/i7K CPUs. But they let you turn on all the bells and whistles and pump out high frame rates.

I ordered 1/9/2019 for shipment to Seattle, USA and so far no shipment, still have an order status of "confirmed" and an estimated delivery date of 2/20/2019. I guess I should be happy I have not been cancelled :)

I seem to remember Dell having a more granular status a few years back where you could see where you were in the order to delivery pipeline and see when your system was being built but I guess they scrapped that for some reason. All I see in the timeline is confirmed -> shipped -> delivered.

Im in the same boat as you. Apparently a bunch of the US folks like you and I are sitting at "confirmed" per folks here and on Reddit. Better than cancelled for sure lol.

Did you check to see what power supply part number you have?

If I was to guess the folks in the UK are getting "Shipped" status because the factory probably ships direct to them.... On the other hand US and Canada the factory ships to Dell USA, then Dell USA ships to end user...

My packing slip says I have this type of PSU:
450-AICV 180W Power Adapter and 330W Power Adapter

I thought it was "supposed" to be something else?

Hmmm, looks like I have a ship date of 17FEB on my packing slip page. Wonder how long that's been there....

Order page also says "Your custom-built item is complete." It had said that a week or so ago, and then it disappeared and now its back...?

About PSU, what will the conséquence when you connect only one of the two PSU, from your point of view?

Global Performance downgrade? CPU/GPU? Or the battery will complete thé lack of power ?

    Another things:
I read that it's really possible to dell will allow Optimus with gsync because an Asus or msi RTX laptop review (don't remember) said that Optimus was activitate despite of gsync

I received a call from the Dell modification team. They told me my order (I am US based) is still on schedule to arrive on the 20th. It is in production stages right now and is estimated to arrive on time (2/20). He mentioned that the cable issue has been sorted out and no cancellations are required. They will simply be shipping me 2 power cables as a separate order that should arrive on the same day as the laptop.

If using external display at 1080p it should perform very close to desktops (maybe ~5% from desktops)

1440p external should be within 3-5% of desktops.

4K UHD external should be within 1-4% of desktops.

Internal display you might see around 5-10% hit at least.

Only thing limiting AGA is the x4 lane speed. There was a very good article I think on techpowerup showing the difference of 3.0 x4 vs x8 vs x16.

Not sure, believe it 150 on paper but it’s definitely pulling more than that. I’m seeing boost clocks at full load in the high 1900s and low 2000s for the core clock. Which the P775 I had could not do at all.

Check if needed checkmarks are added in Hwinfo settings. As well check in the layout.

Or post screenshots of whole Hwinfo so we can see what’s in there.

iam not that excited... the white on the top view pic looks ,,inhomogen,,... depends on the ambient light maybe but it looks like the pad, keyboard and palmrest have different tones of white...

thats exactly what i was worried about
