It looks like they're reasonably well separated for thumb use. Obviously I can't say for sure without testing one out, though. As for button mapping, if the software is anything like the Razer software I've used in the past, it should be relatively painless.

well ill add my Habu is perfect for me
20$ and im set -
Guys, I don't want to sound like a butt, but if you could post pictures of the mice and other equipment that would be great. I just think it would help liven up the thread, and I'm a bit lazy to look up the mice by name on google. I have no idea what you're talking about when you name mouse names, haha
. It's not like cars, and when you say you've got a Ford Taurus, I know exactly what it looks like, you know?
Thanks a millionAnd thanks for keeping the thread alive thus far. Keep the discussion going.

This is my Logitech G9x:
This is my Asus W90Vp:
And this is my toilet:
I spend a lot of time using each of them every single day.
Hope that livened things up a bit... -

I'll get a more personal photo tomorrow when there's light. -

The DeathAdder is Tom's Hardware Guide?
-
not mine but yea -
You've got great tastes in color Bob lol. I use the same color lights for my gaming profile and same mouse pad too, eerily enough...

I just received my razer orochi and it is great but i have a question. Wasnt the scrollwheel bluelit? only an indicator in the midlle of the mouse is lit.
-
It appears to be so in the pictures. but I guess I'll see when mine (finally) arrives on tuesday.
-
I think the lighting may only work in wired mode. And you may have to enable it in the configuration software; I know with my DeathAdder I have the option to turn on/off the scroll wheel and logo illumination.
-
Now, the normal profile color is blue to match the LED's in my W90 and the color of my mousepad. It turns red when I'm using it for gaming. -

Get what you pay for, indeed.
Looks like my OCZ Eclipse's laser is dead. Hate RMAing.
Good thing I kept my reliable Mx518 around. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
That's what you get for splitting with Logitech. Get a G500.
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Probably. Still, I'm going to RMA it.
Any other suggestions besides the G500? -

TrackMan Wheel.

what if i get a habu
-
I have a Habu and like it. I had a G5 wired and a Microsoft Sidewinder as well. The G5 was the best for my hand but the Habu is good also. Although I should say Im not that fond of it as a production mouse since I use CAD and 3d software all the time. For gaming its great. I suggest going to a computer store and feeling them out.
Let the mouse choose you mwahaha -

I was joking, since I have heard of the awful firmware/software installation process.
But since you're a user, I might as well ask. From everything Ive read, it's not plug-and-play, so you have to install everything--firmware flashing and software/driver installation. Right?
Also, I heard you have to use the same USB port that you used to first install it, otherwise funky things will happen. Also correct?
Hmm, a Logitech G5 looks nice. -
My Razer copperhead is getting old, but it is still the best mouse I've ever used.
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Bah. Went for a black G5. It's going to looks almost like my Mx518.
-
The Habu is an awesome mouse. It works right out of the box. Just plug it in and isntall the drivers. It uses the same shape as the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 which is without a doubt, one of the most comfortable shapes I've ever used.
FYI the Explorer 3.0, Habu, and Deathadder are sort of in the same "family" as their shapes are very similar. -
I just placed an order this morning for the new 3,500 DPI DeathAdder with the braided cord!
Should be here within the week, I'll give it a bit of a review when it shows up. -
My orochi is on the truck for delivery and should be here any time now
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
No excuses.
-
-
And the Orochi has arrived! Shall go into depth about it when I return home. (Also, for the person who asked if the scroll wheel lights up, yes it does. install the razer driver from the support site and go to the last tab on the Orochi Configurator, the Lighting and Maintenance tab.) oh and btw, FedExFail. they left my orochi at my neighbors- noticed the fedex truck driving away and I had no box and was like ..lol
-

Anyway, about a week before the G5 comes to my door. Lesson learned. -

-
I should be hitting up some L4D after I get home and get some food down. and the 4,000 DPI isn't nearly as insane as I'd expected tbh..lol.
-
forge why didnt u go for the new G500? IMO its hte best mouse logitech has offered to date, the design looks modern, nicer buttons, OMG hyperscrollz, 5700dpi engine etc. btw how much do G5 go for these days? are less than 30bucks? i mite pick one up fro my brother, he always complains about his crappy logitech 2 button mouse lol.
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
And it's also ~$65
From eBay I got a new, non-refurbished black G5 for $40. I don't know how it lasted that long, though. I was expecting someone to buy it for that price.
-
The orochi is definitely awesome. feels great, smooth and quick.
-
My G9's buttons are so worn out, I can't do rapid fire clicking on semi-auto guns in game anymore like I used to. I need to figure out a s/n for this damn thing (threw the tag away) stat so I can RMA it to logitech.
-
I GOT THE G500 its like the G5 but soooo much better.

Logitech really took care of it's gaming customers. Both the G500 and the G9x share the same engine with the only difference being the chassis itself and the buttons.
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Well, hopefully this G5 rev.1 is up to snuff. Should be, though, if it's better than an Mx518.
-
Okay, so, I finally called Logitech about my mouse, and it turns out I just needed to take a screenshot (prnt scrn) of my walmart.com receipt of when I bought the G9 last year in December, and send the .jpg to the logitech customer care guy I talked to on the phone. He said they'll send me a G9x in place of my G9, but I think I mighta' confused him with my talk about G9/G9x's, since I asked if they still had G9 in stock or switched completely over to the refresh.
Does anyone know? Would Logitech still have G9's in stock or do they send out G9x's to replace G9's... -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Logitech moved over to the G9x already. Any G9's left are just sitting in inventory or on store shelves.
-
If Logitech does indeed send you a replacement, it probably will be a G9x (lucky). -
Main difference being the higher maximum DPI supported on the G9x (5000 DPI). Everything else is exactly the same compared to the G9.
-
Like Harleyquin.... X -
One little peeve is that the Orochi deosn't support flat 100 increments of DPI change. goes in hops of 125, making 200/400/800 impossible.
-
Love my Logitech G5. With the interchangeable weight and perfect shape its my favorite gaming mouse.
