I'll bring it back to the shop... I may get a new one.
-
I tried the ms 6000 in a shop for a while, and although the tracking etc seemed very good, the hard ridge on the top behind wheel was just way too uncomfortable that I could imagine using it for prolonged period. Yet another potentially great mouse ruined.
Can't imagine what was going trough the head of the designer who figured out that "hey! I've got a great idea, let's add this thing that will totally ruin the ergonomics, and won't add anything to the looks or functionality" -
brought it back, i'll prolly get a new one.
-
Do anyone of you have the Orange version? Why is grey in the stores several weeks and orange is still unavalible.... :-o
I searched with google and I didn't find any shop with Orange avalible...
I hope that orange version will be better.
There is still no alternative. Maybe on CeBit..... -
yea, I am also still hoping the orange version will be an improved one, but it is indeed nowhere available.
-
they gave me a new release date: March 30.
------> LOL -
hmmm -
Ok....been a while since last post. Gotta keep it bumped. Any new news??
-
I think everyone gave up
-
so if the v400 is not even close to expectations, and the ms6000 is not that great, then what else is out there?
-
-
Good question....I haven't been able to find anything new......:
-
what are you waiting for? the grey one, the orange one, or a second version?
-

Yep! Both the grey one AND orange one are now available in belgium. I have no idea if the orange one has had an update and I won't buy it either, I'm very happy about my MX 610.
-
1. does it track well?
2. how long do the batteries last?
3. is it comfortable? compared to mx5xx series, is it smaller or bigger than MX5xx? -
I have also received this email, but when i got logitech Canada it says there are none in stock. That goes the same for logitech USA, neither colors are available. God logitech really pisses me off sometimes. I just wanna ram the v400 down all of their throats.
-
some disadvantages: you need to have outlook and msn messenger/yahoo messenger for the buttons, and IE for the back/fwd buttons, BUT you can set the buttons to do ALT+LEFT/RIGHT, so that makes them work in any other browser.
You also need to install the software to be able to change button-settings and use the magnifier (WHICH only works in some programs). -
lol, they deserve a good ramming
-
-
I'm still hoping that they fixed all the tracking issues. I'd really like to own this mouse. Especially since there aren't any others with two extra buttons. :-/
-
I got the same e-mail this morning telling me to buy my v400 now, but none are in stock. WTH Logitech?!
-
When I logged into the Logitech site in the morning, the online store was showing the grey v400 in stock. I didn't buy one though. Even though I have been waiting since November to get one, I am willing to wait out a couple more weeks to get a better price than what the logitech online store gets.
I don't know if this is a fluke or not but I found that TechOnWeb shows the v400 in stock on their website. http://www.techonweb.com/products/productdetail.aspx?id=C00482&src=CN
I also went to some local retailers asking about it. BestBuy had no record on their systems but there was a mysterious empty space on the sample display shelf within the Logitech mice that the sales associate thinks may be reserved for the v400.
I talked with a Manager at OfficeMax who was very familiar with the v400. Back in September he remembers preparing the display and waiting for months for stock. When he checked his system yesterday, the v400 was completely removed. He even checked his most recent display plan which also does not have the v400 on it.
Looks like it will still be some time before the retail chains get enough stock to distribute to their stores. -
I don't know wtf is going on in the rest of the world but the v400 orange is available here in France :
http://www.rueducommerce.fr/info/showdetl.cfm?product_id=369196
http://www.ldlc.fr/fiche/PB00032387.html
It's in stock and ready to ship.. Waiting on my order to come
Later,
TSR -
Went back to the Logitech site again this morning, still no stock on the grey. Still has the "Notify Me!" for the orange. Just for kicks I checked to see how much shipping would be if I did buy it directly from Logitech (though I know for sure I'm not). Cost comes out to $49.99 for the mouse + $9.49 for standard shipping. I don't know if they charge tax, but almost $60 for this mouse is asking too much.
TSR... let us know how it works. Thanks in advance buddy. -
I can confirm that the grey one and the orange one are both available in Belgium...
-
can anyone share the experience of using the (supposedly) the newer version? especially on tracking issues.
I think lots of people are waiting... -
Hi, I'm glad I found this thread since I was intrigued by the good design of the V400, but couldn't buy it in stores here in Paris although it was on display (as a dummy).
Are there any confirmations that the issues with this mouse have been fixed in the versions that are apparently shipping now in france? I'd really like to know that, because I can't really afford to buy the thing and try it out myself. Last time, I checked, by the way, the orange one was available at amazon.fr but the grey one was not. -
Why choosing the V400 instead of the V500...?
-
forward/back buttons; and for whatever reason people like the orange bumpers on it
-
Pretty much the forward and back buttons, I need them. I can't live without them!
-
they need to give the V500 the ability to map the side scroll buttons to forward and back instead. much more useful.
-
*sigh* I hope this mouse issue is resolved soon. The V400 isn't a lost cause even if they ditch the dual laser design. I'm sure that most of us don't give a **** if it tracks on mud, porcelin, or the bottoms of our feet. As long as it tracks as good as the MX1000 or their other laser mice I'm sure that the consumer would be happy.
I don't think Logitech has a clue what they are doing with this mouse though as they seem to keep annoucing new products all the time. V150 anyone? -
Does the V500 have programable buttons - to make the side scroll buttons, back and forward instead??
My logitech MX700 has all buttoms programable. -
Hello all,
I'm back because I finally contacted Logitech about my issues with the mouse. And yesterday what a surprise I received a new one by mail.
I'll test it tonight.
But in all the case I would like to give a "+1" to Logitech support which made no difficulties with the exchange.
Bye.
JeBoss. -
hope they have made some changes to the later batches....
insane -
Oki do,
Good news, it works perfect just as it should. Seems really sensitive, perhaps a bit too much now or I've to train my muscles to work with this beast.
Anyway, seems that the first one I've got was really defective, this one doesn't present any of the problems I've had with my first one.
Once again, "bravo" Logitech for their support.
Bye.
JeBoss. -
hmm jeboss, is it possible for you to have the mouse go to sleep mode on you? How long does it take? And also, how long does it take to "wake it up" again? I'm still waiting for mine to come in..
Is yours the orange or black one btw?
Later,
TSR -
HI,
Mine is the grey one, which match the color of my Acer Aspire 1694.
Regarding the sleep mode, yes the mouse suspend itself but I didn't notice any trouble with this. It wake's up pretty fast.
As I said previously the mouse is really sensitive which could explain this.
Bye. -
Sounds good so far
I sent an email to my seller a few days ago, no repsonse as of yet... -
It says on Amazon that there is one in stock orange.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref...ords=v400#page=1&sort=&v_7=1_0_7_7_0_Logitech -
I got a response, but he said, date moved again, now back to mid April.
Hmmm.... -
I wonder if I should try and order it and if it dosent work well I can still return it. It says it ships in Us only.
-
Aww I tried to order it and it dident work. I guess I will just have to wait.
-
eh? is it STILL not available in the US? sheesh, logitech!
-
Price: $49.99 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping.
Availability: Usually ships within 1 to 2 days. Ships from and sold by Amazon.com. -
it's me again. 6 weeks ago I asked my friend to bring one from holland to taiwan and i was royally pissed by the tracking.
Today, I bought another (orange) one and yes, it is significantly improved.
The testing is not comprehensive but I can definitely say: it's version 2. -
You aren't just teasing us here are you? Imma cry if you are.
And where did you buy it from?
Does anyone know when STORM GREY color will be released? -
$50 is too much in price for me. I'll wait for it to be around $35-$40. My MX1000 was around $50 but it has a rechargable battery pack.
-
As for version 2, this is my own guess. All I can say is: the tracking is significantly better than the last one I got from EU.
Whether it meets your requirements is up to you.
Right now I'll rate v400 80 (out of 100), and the MS v6000 notebook laser as 65.
