I'm in Vancouver. If you can get to the store on Cambie, you can get one today![]()

How long while idle does it take to go into sleep mode? How often does it get stuck with the tracking?
-
SO far, so good! No tracking issues whatsoever. The front back buttons are a bit awkward, but very usable. The mouse is very very light, and feels kinda cheap. Though it feels kinda cheap at first, it's a solid mouse!
-
Thats excellent how about that sleep mode? Ooh also whats the revision # on yours Cori? Hooly you might want to try a different surface some surfaces tend to muck with lasers.
-
No tracking issues at all Cori?? Did you install the software?
As far as sleep mode...I'm not sure how long it takes before going into sleep mode, but I think someone earlier said it was 10 seconds. Good idea actually because it only uses 1 AA battery. Without sleep, it would drain the juice fast.
Yeah is does kind of feel cheap at first, but it doesn't anymore. Feels great! -
I have yet to test that.
Another thing is, the clickwheel DOES NOT CLICK! It's smooth, like the Microsoft mice. It's disappointing, but I don't mind, though I know some peple do. I find it very comfortable, the grooves are placed very well.
I did not install any drivers BTW, just good ole Plug n' Play! -
Just an FYI......the tracking is very manageable. Not at all like that video that was posted by that guy that showed the horrid tracking of the previous version.
I'm pretty sure my software revision is A00....not the actual mouse. Which no big deal anyway.
HAHA Cori.....my mouse wheel has that familiar Logitech "click". Feels perfect. Weird that yours wouldn't..... -
Mines DOES but its not the same click as the others. I feel it but its alot softer.
Another thing, right now I'm using it on painted wood, I'm walking around the house right now, testing things.
I left the mouse for 3~ mins, and then tried it, there was a half sec delay, then it was good to go. -
Oooh I love the soft click of my MX1000 glad to see it on the V400! I hope it goes into sleep mode after like 30 seconds at least.
-
Wood = OK
Painted Wood = OK
Marble = OK
Paper = OK
Leather = Bad
Mirror = Bad
Glass = Bad
It works to at least 3meters...couldn't test any further heh. -
One more FYI. I just went to Logitech's site to check out downloads. A new version of the Set Point for this model was posted just today.
-
Geez, I'm getting my post count up
Not sure why but it seems as though any tracking issue is lessening as I use it. Weird.....could be I was just too used to my v200?? -
Or the change of DPI, I usually use a G5, and I set my DPI for that...
I'm really loving this mouse haha -
I'm gonna use it a bit more, If I think I have it in good use, I'll start writing a pictorial review haha
-
Cool try and time the sleep mode and see when it actually goes into sleep.
-
Installing SetPoint now....I'll let ya know if there is a sleep mode option to adjust the timing.
-
How do I know if its asleep? Theres no LEDs that turn on when you are using it
edit: Uh oh, I see some tracking issues.....on a Razer Mousepad even! -
Uhoh.
Well to test the sleep mode I would wait 5 seconds then move the mouse and see if it had the half sec delay. Then I would add 5 seconds till I see the half second delay. -
Installed SetPoint.
No options to change sleep mode, however everything seems to be smoother. I am quickly becoming very happy with this mouse. The software can alsoo show battery life, which is cool. Some options in SetPoint that I don't yet know how to use but there is a Help Center that can fix that. Options for gaming etc.
COOL BEANS!! -
Wonder what gameing mode does? Oohh maybe the gaming options turns off the sleep mode would make sense if it did that.

I went to Best Buy in Toronto and there was no sign of it on shelves. I finally tackled a sales guy and asked if they had it, and mentioned that it was in their new flyer that came to my house today. He started looking through the flyer on his clipboard and didn't find it. Then I looked at the date and told him that he had last week's flyer. He said they don't have the new one due to it being a holiday weekend... I don't know what that's all about. So.....
He looked up the part # on their website, checked the computer and they had like 15 of them so he went to the back. He found only orange ones so he brought out a single one and I bought it, $40.
I'm a little hesitant to open it though, with you guys talking about tracking issues. -
...they had it set to 69$ but I told them bestbuy's 39$ ... they were like we have to match it....so they matched it and went lower
I found it hidden behind a few other mouses...luckily that too
awesome mouse -
Can you guys post pics please?
-

Last time I tried to get a price match at Futureshop I wanted them to match a Zellers price on a video game that was 1 cent cheaper, I thought big deal I want to get the most for my money but guess what, they started calling over the manager and going to the back room and it ended up taking over 10 minutes.. and there was a line up! I felt so guilty. What a lame store. -
The sleep mode seems to be okay, wakes up fairly fast(1~ sec) but right now, the tracking is horrendous. I don't know why, easiler on it was awesome.
Also, comparing with my G5, which uses the same dual lasers, the 'hole' for the laser on the G5 is almost twice the size. Perhaps thats one reason?Attached Files:

Dang yall. Adding three more pages to the best topic in this forum lol.
So what's wrong with your tracking Cori? I noticed the reset button in one of the pics. Did you try that? Gosh, I hope that it's only a temporary set back.
And if it was on sale for the Canadian Best Buy then I hope it goes on sale when it comes to Best Buys in the US. -
lol, nice avatar
but unless a bluetooth version comes out my interest is zero -
Argh, stuck at work. Can't spend time testing it out more.
Cori, try this:
Go to Start>Programs then to whatever it's called (SetPoint or whatever). There is an option there called Connectivity something. Try that. You have to hold the left click, hit the reset button, right click 5 times, then let go of left click. Seriously....LOL. But it seemed to work for me. -
I'm still afraid to open mine after hearing coriolis's comments.
-
and about futureshop maybe they always check but best buy being a related store they just checked online in 10 secs and gave an even better price -
I'm using it now, it's working fine as far as I can tell. At first the side scrolling didn't work at all in either IE or Firefox. Then I was trying to set up the forward and backward buttons and windows froze up. When I rebooted the side scrolling suddenly worked. The forward and backward buttons do not work. I set them up like the logitech website said where you do 'keystroke assignment' in setpoint but it still doesn't work in either firefox or IE. Anyone have an ideas?
The sleep and wake up hasn't affected me and I haven't tried the mouse on a lot of surfaces but it seems accurate.
It's cool that futureshop didn't give you a pain in the ass about the price match. Yesterday Best Buy almost didn't price match their own website when I found a Targus bag I wanted. It was cheaper by $10 on their own website and the guy in the department said they can't do that and that its ok because I can just easily order it online. But I was holding the bag in my hand so after repeated "Huh what?" he said go to the service desk. I asked the girl there if they can match the price and she said "Sure." and did it. Ugh! -
Ok I just tried the 'generic button' trick in setpoint and now my forward button works in IE and Firefox but the back button still does nothing.
-
-
I just ordered mine from CircuitCity.com.
-
I got notice that mine has been shipped today. ETA Tuesday 4/18. I am so excited.
-
-
The tracking does seem to suck a little on certain surfaces, a National Geographic magazine for example. Calling it all-terrain is an exaggeration. whoa its moving by itself right now... oh sorry my hand was on the touchpad
-
Forward works perfectly fine in Firefox and IE with either 'keystroke assignment' or 'generic button' so I'm thinking I just have a broken mouse. Guess I should return it.
-
Can you have the 2 buttons open up programs? If so how?
-
Program it via SetPoint
-
I have setpoint...but I dont see the option of making them open a program in the options...help? check my attachment..Attached Files:
-
-
I don't think you can set a button to open a certain program.
As far as the sleep mode thing:
If you have the receiver unplugged, the mouse is still turned on. Once it is out of the mouse, the mouse is on.
If the receiver is in the usb port but not using the mouse, that's when it goes into sleep mode. -
Ok i got me the orange one today at best buy and it works like a beauty. I only got one problem, the back and forward buttons work with explorer but it doesnt work with firefox. Any have the same problem?
-
-
-
When I plugged my mouse into my other PC which did not have setpoint, my working forward button worked in Firefox, I didn't have to do that assignment trick with setpoint, it wasn't installed. On my laptop I used setpoint to get the forward button to work. So if you can't do either of these you might have broken buttons unless you have tried them in IE and found them working. My back button doesn't work so I'm exchanging it today.

i have a question
