    Awesome and clever mod.
Did that while "refreshing" the stock thermal paste

I can finally use the fan at full speed and not get a headache!

Are there any tweaks for the Wifi ? I got the 5100 model and i noticed that streaming videos ,like from YouTube take longer on my 1810T than my Desktop.

SHould i change any of the settings or something?

    Idle 1196mhz Voltz 0.925 V
    in full 1296MHz Voltz 1.038v

    You can install two RAM 2 x 2GB PC2-6400 800MHz ... ?

With which program did you check the values?
1.2GHz and 1.3GHz are the available speeds, so that is ok.
Yes, you can install 2x2GB PC2-6400 RAM. Make sure you buy SODIMM, not normal DIMM.

I've observed that the screen distortion with the newest graphics drivers only happens when the laptop gets connected/disconnected to/from mains when in standby/hibernation.

Good call, i got it with 3115 on and updated right out of the box to 3120.

It would be good if someone could find out what the new update offers.

Then i might think about updating :)

Someone should just ask Acer. An other guy asked for a 3810TG BIOS changelog and Acer sent it to him.

You will be prompted to update to 3116 when upgrading to Windows 7 with the Acer upgrade discs. Don't know why 3116 is needed for Windows 7 though...

Yeah, well, I just downloaded it and am already confused by the Windows update. There's an x86 and x64 file. We're all on x64, but the README file says to click on the x86. What the heck?

    I only flash in DOS.

The version my 1410 shipped with didn't have VT enabled in the bios, and when I updated to 3120, VT was enabled.

I also did the update today.. bios went from 0.3120 to 1.3302, and I think it also updates the Intel video BIOS..

Installed 3302 on my 1410 (u3500). My boot time from hibernate is much faster, a few seconds now as opposed to a minute or so on the earlier bios.

Also, I'm no longer getting the graphical artifacts that would cause me to have to reboot after hibernation that I had been getting since I installed the latest intel graphics drivers.

I would say it's a must install for anyone on win7.

    Please try the following.
    1. Unplug the power cord, go into hibernation/standby, plug in the power cord, wake up the device.
    2. Plug in the power cord, go into hibernation/standby, unplug the power cord, wake up the device.

You can check the video BIOS version in the driver control panel see here:

Quick question on hardware VT. On bios 3120, apperently 3117 should have enabled hardware VT. Securable is showing VT as OFF. Any ideas?

Note 1810TZ purchased in UK (SU4100).

Strange numbers and stranges sizes of bios numbering... did you notice, that bios versions up to 3120 are 4.5Mb. The 3302 5.3Mb and the latest 3303 3.4Mb. Not a good feeling so I stay on 3117 until someone can proof some noteworthy. At least with 3117 the cpu temp was fixed and VT enabled.

In my reply above I've provided you with link for Acer wallpapers, didn't you see it? ;)
As for screensaver, you can just go to computer store with USB flashdrive and steal one from their display machines. That is what I did for wallpapers anyway ;)

hi, i am interested in undervolting my 1810T (7300 cpu). I wasnt able to find the values needed to run it at the lowest voltage :(

Searchfunction didnt help me to find it in the undervoltagethread and here (or i have overseen it)

Perhaps someone can give me some hints ;)

    the voltages under 1v have a (x).
Can you give me a hint, which voltage I should start with? :)

Use RMC and go straight to the lowest voltage CPU-Z reports. The link is in the first post see "optimizing battery life and undervolting".

The Insyde EFI is able to be flashed selectively. It's not needed to flash the whole EEPROM, so the file sizes of the BIOS updates may vary.

Hmmm i got my first distortions recovering from sleep mode.

I was on battery, closed the lid=sleep, then connected to power and resumed. That`s when i got them

I also noticed that when booting cold with AC power connected, windows loads but then i have to wait several seconds for the system to become ready

I guess its time for 3303

EDIT: Update done, all gone well. Problem still persists. With AC connected my system boots, and it looks like it gets stuck loading 1810Tray Wifi and Antivirus (Eset Smart Security). It resumes and becomes usable after 20 seconds. Weird. On battery all is OK

    Hi together...

since a few hours I'm a happy owner of a 1810TZ an I didn't put it out of my hands since then :)

But now I do have my first question:
Is it possible to work with two displays (Notebook and HD-TV) in clone modus in 1920x1080? With my last laptop it was possible - the TV went in Full HD as primary display and the laptop display was secondary and you had to move the image with the mouse...

With the 1810TZ all I could achieve was to put both displays in 1366 resolution... :(

    Is there something I missed?

    thanx in advance
    Angelo T.
