Although I program software for a living, it's a bit hard to figure out how to get certain features working -- I added UxSms, and tried enabling/disabling it, but I haven't gotten it to enable/disable Aero successfully. I may need to reinstall 1810Tray, maybe not all the services registered themselves...

New idea for this app... Have a button or menu option that pops up a list of PlainEnglish-named 'common device profiles', to quicky and easily add sets of common useful cryptic operations such as this that most 1810tray users might find useful to enhance their systems. (only if easy to program and might reduce your "tech support" work load!)

Everything else works, including the fan.

in german "Sitzungs-Manager für Desktopfenster-Manager" / UxSms is the Service that does the Aero FX. (on your rig should the service names in the first column in ... maybe english).....
1810tray does the same as ComputerManagment/services it just disable this services

ps: i added a search function for devices and services in next version ;o)

btw. i figured out that this option not really help to save battery power !!!! so i want to prevent self punishment
by the user and help windows 7 to be beautyfull as it should :D

all the programs I try show me the wrong temp, for example 1810 tray stays stuck at 31C regardless of the actual temperature.

The only program that appears to be detecting temp correctly is Smartfan, but I like 1810tray better.

    Any help?

you can use this tool one every notebook, but fancontrol will not work.

btw i work on a version with a c# interface for fancontrol plugins. so you can develop you own fancontrol plugin ;)

How can I change change the fan control in EC from 55 to 176? And make it to change this bit continously? Because in my Acer Aspire 5530g it is countinously changing back.

you have to enter the value as HEX
    0x55 -> 85(Dez)
    176 (Dez) -> 0xB0 (HEX) ???

This piece of software is so nice, my 1810TZ wouldn't be the same without it. I can actually use it in class without the fan roaring as hell... Unlike other peoples netbooks.

What do I have to change for getting the fan-thing work with my 3810 tg? Anyone? Weird thing is, that the front-lamp gives feedback when changing something in the fancontrol (blinks when changing to native) but won't do any better with the noise when putting it on stop or auto (and setting temperature on 60°C)

The tool also shows a temperature 5 degrees higher than rmclock on my 3810...this isn't important at the minute, but if the fan-control does work, it may become important...

Hello, I've installed this great program... Just one thing: when I choose undervolting at 0,875v, I notice that in cpu-z the voltage goes up and down... is this normal?
btw my cpu is su7300, and 0,875 is supported by this cpu...

thats normal! as long as you select balanced powerscheme windows set a high vid on demand and 1810tray set it back to low.

if you use i.e. highpower windows set the vid to a high value and 1810tray set it back to i.e 0,875 and in that case it should stay at 0.875

This worked for me only with highpower+pluggedin... and 0,875+higpower+plugged in made my 1810t to freeze while playing an extra on skype... are you sure it's stable to set 0,875+higpower?

no! im not sure that YOUR 1810 is stable @ 0,875 !!!!!!! ;)

btw. you can set it ti balanced , too. if you stress you cpu (i.e. with prime) you see that it only switch the VID to high at the beginning. then 1810tray switch it back to lower VID and it stays there aslong your cpu is stressed.

you can use RMClock to monitor the VID with a nize timeline for freq/cpu/vid ....

rmclock on "power on demand" makes SUs unstable...the programm isnt able to control the power demand as fast as the CPU on its own...

ALLRIGHT! I found out how to change it ;) Regedit, and in it there is fanspeedport. I've changed it to my 0xB0, but i need some help about making it doing continously, because after 3 seconds it is going to it normal speed.

    I click on "stop"
    3 seconds of silence.
After this 3 secs Fan is on again. etc.

Quick question: this program should work on a Gateway® EC1454u, correct? If I am not mistaken, it is virtually a rebadged Acer Aspire AS1410, but I'm wondering if the different brand makes any difference with this program.

Download RWeverything, run EC, look for a byte which is continously changing with fan, click on it. Get it number, and transform it to Hexadecimal. The open regedit->HLM->Software->Inteks->1810tray and paste to fanspeedport your number i. e. 0xB0,0x34 etc

Hey, I also wanted to thank you for that wonderful thing. It worked very well on my "old" 1810 t which got broken, now I got a new one by acer which was produced in 2010. Now as I start 1810tray I get an error, which looks like that. Do you or probably somebody else know what it means?
    Thanks

    there are only 4 bits left in the ec_sc thing....no fan-bit :(....
but i have a hint for inteks software...there is a bit (at 0xE7 for me) which is constantly changing from 2B to 20 and in reverse...it has something to do with the WLAN LED and te WLAN module...so if you could trigger the bit correctly maybe the annoying WLAN-does-something-blinking is gone...for some of the fan-control bits ( ;), yes i tried them with the wlan led) wlan is on, led is off, wlan is off, led is off and so on...
now i hope that an 3810 user who got the fanthing working, can help me with a fan-solution

I have tried this little utily now.
Could it be that it doesn´t display the right CPU-Temperature?
it get at the start for example 46 degrees and it never changes. But I ascertain that the Acer is getting little hoter after a while.
When i activate the fan its getting more cold but the temperature is still the same.

Update your BIOS (I had the same problem with my 1810TZ and after updating to 3303, the problem was resolved).

p.s. You'll find that this problem also exists with CPUID's HW Monitor and perhaps all other apps taking direct readings from the CPU's built-in sensor...

Hey, sorry for it took that long. The Synaptics driver is installed, version 7.2 and I use win7. But one thing's strange. As I tried to flash a new Bios version, the acer Bios updater told me that my current Bios version is 3308 while the newest one on the Acer HP is 3303. Maybe that's the reason for the error?

thank you thank you thank you!

it was starting to sound like pearl harbor with the rattling of the fan but your great app finally silenced it :)

now if i can find a solution to fix the webcam recognition problem, the acer aspire 1410 will be almost as good as what it promised to be.

thanks again for your the must-have app for acer aspire 1410!

i dont get it why you made this nice program that much more difficult to use then it was? :(
cant you just add all the stock devices in?
and the 3 powerthemes made by windows it self?

because i dont know which devices i need to add :(

He made it more flexible, imo. Particularly when you consider the fact that an 1810T is different from and 1810TZ, let alone the 1410 varieties...

    here a tip.

disable all devices in devicemanager you would like to see in 1810tray.
    then ...
in 1810tray options rightclick on the deviceslistview.
    select "add device"
in the filter textbox type "disabled" then only all you disabled devices are listed

    see attatched screenshot

Ok...now I'm going to feel like a real idiot here I am sure but figuring this out is a bit confusing.

First, is there possibly just one zip/executable file to install? I tried the zip file for fan speed control and it wouldnt start because of a missing DLL.

Next, I looked at the main zip which has the 1810 tray executable as well as something called devcon and hd parm etc.

Is there possible a user manual I can get started with or some explanation of the simplicity of this somewhere...

Fifty pages of searching isn't really feasible.

    Thanks in advance.

    EDIT:

I have since started 1810tray and found my fan to stop immediately when on. Next it came up with an error saying ...Unhandled exception...

It then told me there was an unrecognized/approved 32 bit application. I clicked to continue and now the prog doesnt work.

Thught if I waited until the bugs were ironed out Ide be the better...not so..
