got the .40? try to delete the registry keys (search for "Intek", should be somewhere in the Software Section) after that it may work again.
I got the same errors, but since .38 they are gone, so maybe there is another problem with ur configuration....

Ok...got it working. Is there any type of a guide which tells me what I can do with this? My problem seemed to be related to the 'touchpad rotator"...
Where should this be unzipped to?
Got it working... Next question is where do I find info on all the options that may assist on my decisions to apply them or not...ie....Apply Intel GFX Settings -
glad to see you finally got around to instaling 1810Tray
User guide? Well heck, you are the guru of User / Tweak guides, Les - we've all been waiting on you to write it
Actually, you can break 1810Tray down in three areas: fan control, devices control and overclocking / undervolting. You will manage the first two on your own (or with a little help from your NBR friends) and the latter depends on HW mods which I assume you haven't done to your 1810T... yet
P.S. The most important first step is to understand that "native" is equivalent to turning 1810Tray's fan control off, should you decide you'd rather tweak things first, before going to the auto option... secondly CTj Max needs to be manually set for your CPU (check Intel's spec sheet).
EDIT: I take one thing back; "undervolting" does not require a HW mod but cannot lower your CPU's "lowest voltage". Instead, it will maintain the lowest voltage when your CPU shifts to it's full multiplier. In other words, the system normally lowers the voltage as the multiplies is lowered & visa-versa. 1810Tray prevents it from raising the voltage when the multiplier is raised -
Yes.....like it alot with respect to its fan control. I never thought there was any problem initially just thought it frustrating at the fact that the fan would go on immediately when plugged in.
So. if I check off the undervolting....will it automatically undervolt the way it is set and will that increase battery life. Willl it also reduce power?
I am also curious about the setting check boxes and how they can assist me...
Im an OS tweak guy....and an ssd guy...but hardware.....obviously I have lots to learn. -
What exactly is the reason that the fancontrol cannot be adapted to other models?
I have a 8471 and the fan is actually the only thing that annoys me enough to maybe return this otherwise perfect notebook...
Stefan -
Ok...for Inteks...(or really anyone with the knowledge)
I have tried playing with the program a bit and am happy with the better control of the fan. Its a trade off really because, although the fan is not needed at the lower temperatures, it does a great job of keeping the system very cool at all times. Mine is hardly warm to the touch at all in normal usage with it off yet much warmer with 1810T Tray controlling the fan.
I would like to find some literature or knowledge somewhere on the choices that can be made right side of the ProfileConfigurationPage as well ideas with respect to device control on the same page.
As well, on the profiles page my "Select Profile On" menu doesn't work at all.
Also, if i simply check off the undervolting at the recommended .875, is that going to save me battery life. I will concede I saw better battery life with the fan control, however, I am already in excess of 8 hours on average use in any case which is way more than I ever had.
Thanks ahead. -
Nice Work.
Is there a Way to get it work on the Travelmate 8371-352G16n?
The fan is very loud and nerving. -
to create a profile setup all the settings you like
i.e max gfx performance, powersheme at high, disable unneeded devices (and services) than type a name i.e. "gaming" in the textbox on the left bottom and click save.
after that you can select it in the context menu.
it can also a simple resolution profile
select "change dislayresolution" type 1024 and 768 name it 1024x768 then save it
then you can quickly change the display resolution.
it is so implementet that the profiles are not revertet if you select and other profile.
you can create power related profiles and device enable/disable profiles seperatly and then select them 1 by 1 to combine them
you can also create a program as device. i.e a torrent client
if you enable this "utorrent device" in you surfing profile it could be terminated in you gaming profile
and yes it should save batterypower. and the cpu should run cooler !!! mine is 1-2 degree cooler (tested on heavy stress for longer time with fanspeed fixed at "slow")
have fun

Sorry for this long text....
Here is an update: found out that 0x20 at offset 0x55 turns the fan off, 0x00 goes back to native again - or so. Will look into that tomorrow. Just to spare you some reading time
Hi!
Trying to adapt this for an Extensa 5635zg, stupid fan driving me nuts...
Overall cooling seems to be quite powerful, even with unthrottled GPU and 3 instances of cpuburn running, it took ages to climb 64° (thats where I gave up).
In theory, I hoped to just fill the wonderful fanspeedcontroll-plugin with the correct values from my system. However, I am a bit stumped right now and would need some input...
Recap:
0x58 and 0x5A - cpu temperatur, closely follows acpi reported readings
0x57 and 0x59 - seems to be another thermal sensor, 10-20 lower than cpu
The offset-pairs report the same temperature, respectively. lm-sensors shows the internal thermal sensor for each core, however it seems these are missing from EC. Now, my fan blasts away as soon as cpu reaches 40°, which basically means, all the time... Here is what I found out about fan-related EC offsets:
0x5D - fan indicator: 0=off / 1=on
0x5E and 0x55 - fan level: 0=off / 1=low / 2=medium / 3=full / 4=insane
0x5C - fan "rpm": 0=off / 69=low / 37=medium / 11=full (roughly, changes slightly)
Problem is - when I change fan indicator or rpm, my values are quickly overwritten by the "native" settings and have no effect.
Fan level can be manually adjusted at 0x5E (1-4 and more) and changes fan speed, but it can not turned off. Setting 0x00 has no effect, and gets updated when the level changes natively. Setting values at 0x55 does not change anything, they switch back when the level changes again
(Strange thing is, value 41 at 0x5E turns the fan off, but this can not be a good thing since indicator and rpm values go mad, and it took some time before ec fan control kicked in again even after setting the level back to 1. All changes were made with rw-everything/acer_ec.pl. )
Should I look for another offset? Nothing else catched my eye yet, but maybe I have to start testing again. Could it be there is a "manual mode" - switch somewhere?
This row looks like it could hold temp tresholds, but I had no luck raising the lower numbers:
Code: 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 0A 0B 0C 0D E0 | 40 43 40 53 50 65 60 75 70 85 80 127

version 41 uploaded.
touchpadrotator issue fixed (it isnt supported under x64!! sorry)
new feature!! Locationbased Profiling !!!!!
in this release you can specify a hotspot under "Setup Wifi Interface" and when this Hotspot is in Range this Profile is Appliedand 1810tray try to connect to this hotspot.
btw appling overclock after resume is optional now, i had some probs with it ...
@gunthers
i cant help you with this problem. maybe it helps if you take a look at the fanspeedplugin sourcecode ...Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Excellent...I experienced the prob with the rotator, having 64. I just disabled it and reinstalled after deleting all registry entries.
If you can find the time, the most useful thing for this program would be a user manual or even a tips and tweaks guide for the lesser hardware people as myself...Im mainly an OS guy eheheh -
Thanks for the update. Excellent program.
btw how to do the overclock to memory ram?
i have a one stick of 2gb 6400 800mhz
Thanks in advance -
...what the heck is this Touchpadrotator device, aynways? Part of the Synaptics Touchpad device(s)? I take it's used when you use your external monitor in portrait mode... :-/ -

Is there a help file or manual for this somewhere ?
Or perhaps someone can post some screenshots of their settings in version .41 ? -
Another question:
On my last notebook (a HP) I had the option (I think through BIOS) to switch off the WIFI when the LAN was used and to activate it when the LAN was not active.
Is this possible with the use of 1810tray ? -
Would be very interested to see a screenshot of your profile "energie sparen"
I also have no idea how to add devices to a profile.
I would like to create an ultimate energiesaving profile where the bluetooth is switched off, the webcam is switched off and the acer in undervolted
Can I also create a profile that switches of the WLAN when connected to LAN and switches it on again when disconnected ? -
It it available a changelog?
-
Gotta say it again....a brief description of the different checkboxes would be great. I am making use of the fan control and undervolting but daily wonder about what else I can do to conserve battery life while on battery mode?
Also can I get a profile to come into play automatically only when I am on bat mode? -

I just created separate schemes for AC and battery and the program doesnt automatically pick them up...still have to change manually. Is there something I am missing?
Disregard...fixed it...works great... -
Just saw you signature.....
How the hell did you get an 11. something boot up time.
My win7 Po takes ages. XP was much faster at starting up -
My 11 is a barebones fresh install. I have spent the last day on it getting everything in and I am still below 20.
Things to consider...
1. Turn off all automatic update and automatic start of programs you are not using. This alone can save a much as 45 seconds to a minute and is the secret why many systems take so long. An example is with a great program called Advanced SystemCare I use. I install it and it is only used when I want it to. What I didnt know was that it monitored my system and had automatic updating which cost me almost 10 seconds...
2. Next...check and cut down on your Start up programs as they eat ALOT of time (WinKey + R then type msconfig and hit enter); and
3. Find the right virus program... I checked 3 yesterday none of which added less than 6 seonds to the start but one which added 15-20 seconds consistently in tests.
That should be a good start but getting rid of all the automated garbage is the biggest asset to reducing boot time. Automatic updating, automatic defrag, backup, upgrade chacking and on and on...
There are things that cost you time that I dont even know why they throw into the startup prg!!! -
So, just a quick issue here. Been using this program since ver 33, and liked it very muc. I updated it to v39 when that came out, since 33 was a bit slow, and it stopped running. Now, with every version since 39, the program crashes upon launch, and I get the Windows Error Reporting popup, saying this app has crashed, would you like to find a solution, etc. I'm running Win7 Pro x64, latest drivers, have had no problems except for this. Any way to solve this problem?
Also, let me know what relevant data/screenshots I can provide to assist you. This is an awesome program, and I'd like to be able to use it! -
i'm not able to test on x64 because i have x86 on my 1810T
btw i cant understand why someone install x64 ??? it make only problems.
i have only 2gigs of Mem with virtualmem disabled and i havent got a low memory warning till now
4gigs are only blow up the hibernate file !! -
disable all non-essential devices, for one. I've disabled my Ethernet (tested it once to be sure it works, but have little plans to use it) "fulltime", I disable either WLAN or WWAN, depending on which I am using. Bluetooth, ditto. All these comm devices *may* use up resources when not actively in use (i.e. roaming, listening, etc.)
You can also turn Aero off when using battery and back on when plugged in.
I'm not sure (I have my 1330 today with me, not my 1810), but I imagine Inteks may have added a "when in battery mode" switch... look around a bit -
As for the 1810tray program, I've tried the latest version, to no avail. Still having problems with it. -
Much the same here and I find that my battery life is visibly better without the program. Don't get me wrong, it is a diamond in the rough but just doesn't fit my 64bit system right now.
-
scientific computing or said better x64 needs 4 or more cores at 3 or more GHz with at least 8gb ram.
on an netbook like 1810t its more pain then fun . . .
back to topicmaybe it helps to clear the old settings
in regedit under software\inteks\1810tray\..... -
one question to intek, i think the fan is not running full speed when tray sets it to " very high" i noticed it specially when the computer is plugged in and i turn of tray then i can hear that fan speed boost up an sound alitle bit higher.

Hey, I'm using the Acer 3810TZ. Will the Tool work with my System too? I'm especially interested in fan controll, because the actual fan is really anoying...
-
marvellous job!
Q: do I have to implement the regedit VIDlock (like for RMclock) to make undervolting through 1810tray work?
thanks.
BTW: 1810tray starts up automatically with W7 only with UAC disabled in my case.
(W7 ultimate 32bit on 1810t) -
new version .42 uploaded:
-touchpadrotator is now connected to the screenconfigchanged system event instead of check via timer.
its more resorces friendly
-some bugfixes -
hi is it possible to have different temperature settings according to profile?
-
In any case, would be great to get some clarification whether it is theoretically and/or practicylly possible cause it seems like a gem of a piece of software!! -
Great work! This app was really helpful for my 1810TZ. The default fan speed is just too noisy when plugged in ac. Almost can't believe that Acer didn't add a better powersaving tool.
Keep up the good work!
From happy user. -
Thank you very much for the application!
I'm running W7 ultimate x64 on 1810T with SU7300. I have undervolting enabled in profile with 0.8750. It looks like the undervolting is not working correctly - CrystalCPUID shows 0.975 all the time. I know that my laptop is stable with 0.8750 - I run RMClock with this multiplier for some time. -
-
Yep, it looks better in RMClock
Thank you!
-
Try cpu-z!
-
Version 42 does not work for me
1810tz Win7 X64
"1810tray funktioniert nicht mehr"
version 41 works.... I tried this twice.
Mike -
try do delete the whole registry entry (search for "Inteks" in the registry) then start 1810...
-
it worked, thanks,....
now i will make my profiles again -
Same error here after .42. Deleted the registry Key...runs ok. BUT i got no profiles anymore. How can i add them?
Thx in advance
laro -
simply type in a name in the textbox next to Visible, first page in the options and then Save...
I got the registry problem with an old version of 1810, it crashes at nearly every second fresh reboot (not on resuming), if this happens you have to roll back to a previous version that worked without crashing...if it crashes only once and the registry thing works for you, stay with the new version... -
Thx. Runs perfectly. Should have put on my glasses
i haven't seen the textbox next to "visible".
-
Deleted that registry key, and now the program works just fine. Wasn't an issue with having an x64 OS
.
(And for those who asked, here's a good rundown on x64 vs x32: http://superuser.com/questions/56540/32-bit-vs-64-bit-systems)
