That may make a difference when running 1810Tray, but are you suggesting that will make a difference even when already running devcon as Administrator?

As long as I can't manually run devcon, there's little need for me to try to run 1810Tray in any other "envrionment"... :-/

But anyways, maybe one of the other 1810TZ owners could report their findings... I find it hard to believe I'm the only 1810TZ+1810Tray member here interested in solving this mystery... :p

when other tools is also not functioning properly and not to UAC is then up to your regulatory system but not in anything.

what the heck. If verse 16 then works just the users should hold.

(I was lazy and just have time to google translate, I hope you can read ;))

Hi, I managed the rest of your sentance but I don't understand what you mean with "regulatory" system...

It's a great little tool and yes, v16 works fine in terms of fan control and temp monitoring so I am grateful for that :) I just figured that we were just one "step" away from solving the other problems, but hey, we gave it our best ;)

Happy holidays 2 all / Frohes Fest an alle

thank you for this awesome tool.

i have a problem, however: whenever i go into standy or hibernate, and then turn the lappy on again, right click on 1810tray doesnt work anymore (no menu shows up) and in some instances the tray icon dissapears.
The actual work (stopping fan, starting fan) doesnt seem to be affected, atleast it seems to work properly the few times i tried.

    System: 1810tz, W7_x64

I start 1810tray via taskplanner (with full privileges) at system start.

Any help is appreciated (if that is not a bug...)

    [edit]
After a bit of testing i found out, that this ONLY happens, when 1810tray is started by the taskplanner. If i manually start 1810tray as Admin and then do a standby/restart it still works as expected. Even if i start it from within the taskplanner myself, it works as expected. Do i have the wrong settings for task? (start at Login, with full privileges, only for my user).

Well, I start up my notebook only once a month. And soon after I realize something important is missing :D So, I left click 1810Tray ...
All the other times I use either sleep or hibernation, so not a problem for me.

I found a solution for me:

Since the 1810tz was bought as surf-laptop for my dad's practice anyway, i decided to make the user account restricted and now i use suRun to be able to run 1810tray with admin privileges and a simple .bat file in the autorun folder to start it up.

This way 1810tray starts automatically in the restricted user account without asking for a password and it even continues to work after a standby oder hibernate.

Case solved for me, now i am totally happy :)

ok, i got it working with the following settings (UAC enabled)
    use trigger -> on loggon
    options ->
    -run only when logged on
    -with full privileges
    -configured for windows 7
    -deselect "run only on acpower"
-and deselect "end after 3 days"

maybe the options called a little differant on english windows

This is what I wrote some days ago:

" I found a way to make 1810Tray launch at windows startup with UAC enabled. I use W7 premium 64 bits
You have to create a scheduled task to launch at "opening of user session" NOT at "system startup" (not 100% sure about the spelling, I use French W7)
Tell me if it worked for you"

i search further and the problem is definatly related to the option

"Start task only if on AC power" !!!

you have to uncheck this option or 1810tray doesnt work anymore after standby (when on battery)!!

    see first post for download.

1810tray does optional create a taskscheduler task for autostart and should now compatible with UAC

OVERCLOCKING ONLY WORKS IF TME MODDED !!! :D
1810tray also create a event for Resetting the FSB on restart maschine ;)

btw no setup anymore. pls uninstall old version and start 1810tray, under settings you find autostart option.

    have fun

    great job!
I just changed TjMax to 100°C for my 1810TZ with W7-64bits in order to get accurate temperature values.
I also put the target temp at 50°C
    Thanks

thanks for your awesome app, i just use it to keep my 1810tz quiet.

for now i am sticking with v16, as v20 seems to be unable to read my temps (stuck at 23 degrees when i set tjmax to 100)

They both work on the same principle but use a different calculation, because they report different temperature.

So your'e saying that 1810Tray (v20) is accurately reading your 1810TZ's temps? AFAIK your'e the only one here with such a configuration that has managed that...

The rest of us 1810TZ owners have had to resort to v16 (or earlier) to get correct temps... what BIOS ver. are you using, btw?

While we're waiting for him to answer I already noted in a prior post that neither coretemp nor CPUID HWmonitor work on my 1810TZ... I'm quite interested to figure out what is different about Francis' 1810TZ that he's managing correct temp readouts... :-/

the calculation is quite simple "Core Temp = Tjunction - Delta"

realtemp try to recalibrate something that dont need to...

Is it posible to install an autostart tab in 1810Tray16?

    Best Regards

    Nick

    Hi
I'm using latest bios 3303 and latest 1810Tray.20 with W7-64bits.
If I put Tjmax at 100°C I have the same temperature as read in SIW
Average temp is between 45° to 50°C while surfing
Over 50°C the fan starts to speedup, which is correct
But Coretemp gives a Tjmax of 105°C, and the temp value is 5°C higher.
The read temp values in Coretemp change very quickly.
I don't know which value for Tjmax is correct fot U4100 processor: 100°C or 105°C?

    Edit:
Realtemp gives a Tjmax of 100°C

i was able to get 1810tray to load on start up with no UAC pop-up in W7 x64 by following a modified version of these steps:

    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11949-elevated-program-shortcut-without-uac-prompt-create.html

the steps i modified were in taskschd.msc when you have made your event, under the 'conditions' tab i unchecked 'start only if the computer is on AC power'

and under the 'settings' tab make sure 'run on demand' is checked and 'stop the task if it runs longer than:' is UNchecked

i then followed the steps for creating a shortcut, i saved it to the desktop and went to 'Properties -> Advanced -> run as administrator' i checked this box and ran it once before exiting the program and unchecking the box (seems pointless but it wasnt working properly until i tried that) then simply drop the icon under your 'Startup' folder in 'start menu -> programs'

i also got this working for RMClock by following the same modified steps BUT in the RMClock application settings i clicked 'run at startup (registry entry)' then applied it, then unchecked it and clicked apply (again pointless but seems to have worked)

ALSO A BIG NOTICE! do not save your RMClock task shortcut as RMClock or it will delete it on you since it thinks its not allowed to start. i saved my shortcut under the Startup folder as RMCclock and it works

sorry if this all makes no sense i havent slept yet. hopefully you'll get the gistttt :)

    Thx for your feedback :)
Looks like I'll have to give the latest BIOS a try, seeing as that seems to be the only difference (I have 3204).

I (also) believe the correct value to be 100C for the SU4100...

    it works now.....

Same here. Ditto for CPUID and all my other system tools (like SiSoft Sandra, etc.) :)

Now if we could only find a way to get devcon to work...

p.s. Francis / wowter, how are the manual speed settings working for you? My "high" & "very high" seem to be ineffective. "very high" never worked but "high" worked in ver 16... :-/

Oops, my bad... "high" still works with v19, I must have had the TV turned up too loud...

But "very high" (AC mode*) doesn't, never did and Francis, I'd be pretty amazed if it works for you (plz check again). Fwiw, I'm using Inteks' default value of 0x00 on AC... and btw, "very high" does work in DC mode (0x98).

    Hello :)

Is there a way i get this tool running on my Acer Travelmate 8371?
Some things like activating the wlan,Cam etc. are working, but the fan speed controlling isn't.
The tool would be rly helpful cause the fan speed is really high while charging the laptop.

    Thx 4 your response

OK, 0x00 is actually "Native" speed, which is generally high ;-)
As I said, i never use manual settings, "auto" is fine
I hope someone can find the solution to disable webcam and LAN for the 1810TZ under W7-64

    ohwowohwow

    Youdaman!

I also noted that you inlcuded a toggle-option for reading the CPU Temp; I hope this will come in handy for non-1410/1810 owners but as noted in previous posts, the problem was due to an older BIOS which wasn't passing on the cpu temp properly to the api...

Anyways, I hope you didn't put too much time into that piece of code for us

My gratitude is on the way (read: Paypal ;) )

I do have one further request / suggestion; could you plz allow us to delete the default devices? Example:

    22:37:07
    C:\Tools\1810Trayv21\devcon64.exe status "USB\VID_07C0&PID_1113&REV_1038"
    No matching devices found.

    22:37:07
    C:\Tools\1810Trayv21\devcon64.exe status "USB\VID_04F2&PID_B175&MI_00"
    No matching devices found.

    22:37:07
    C:\Tools\1810Trayv21\devcon64.exe status "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4232&CC_0280"
    No matching devices found.

are all your (1810T) default devices. It's not urgent, nor even absolutely necessary, but it would clean up the devices list and log quite a bit :)

Thx again for keeping at it - your diligence is much appreciated (and literally pays off :p)
