    Great work !!!

    Thanks !

On my German 1810TZ with preinstalled windows 7 x64, now devices are correctly disabled !

What a pitty that overclocking is not that easy. But I will not risk my warranty. I raised them to 5 years :)

    Nice tool indeed!

But, when setting to undervolt nothing happens, at least according to CPUID-Z. The CPU switches between 0.9 and 0.950 V as before depending on load.
    I am on Win 7, x64. SU4100.

Also, setting TjMAX to 100 degrees (as I suspect is the correct value for SU4100?) does not stick. Every time I open settings I am stuck with 105 degrees... ?

Yes, 100C is the correct value for the SU4100. Did you check the "Read CPU Diode" box? I have the same OS and have no problems "saving" that field... :-/

should it be 100?? because my is also also reading diode and it sets to 105 automatically.

one thing about the 1810tray can the fan be more optimized?
here i tells why im wondering:

when i watch movies i always keep my 1810tz connected to power supply.

but maybe after one hour or just after some long time i get performance drops i guess its the cpu that starts to throttle down. 1810 tray shows hight temp around 60C or just less and the fan start to spin faster too cool down more.
thats when i think its happens like it goes into crazy loop.

begins- fan cools more so the core gets cooler, just when the fan starting to slow down again, the cpu throttling again rises the cpu speed and the core gets overheated. and it starts from the begining into the crazy loop^

is there any cure for this or im the only one with this problem?

v21 now works gr8 under XP (1410;SU2300)! (anyone else running this combination?)
(v19 froze every time I tried to open the menue; Win 7 x64 was fine)

    There is one thing, however:
On every version so far, I've had (let's call it) a minor battery related problem.

When running on battery, the values in batterybar (and the windows bat-meter)
freeze and don't change no matter what.

The only way around it is to detach the battery and reattach it. (Kinda bad if not on AC)
But then again, it usually works only for a couple of minutes.
After that, the battery meters freeze again.
Alternatively, it would permanently show that it would run on AC, even when
    it's not even connected.
Couple of times I was surprized that the Notebook would just shut down and wouldn't wanna start..
The reason was the battery, which was drained empty. (and the battery wear meter going up :( )

When that happens, it also seems to interfere with the charging procedure,
which is very unpleasant when, after letting it charge for a night,
you discover that the battery didn't charge at all (at the same state as it was before)
I am 100% positive, that no other program is causing that
(Only happens when the 1810tray is running; you can set your watch to it)
My guess would be the battery monitoring.

BTW. is there any way to 'really' deactivate the bat. monitoring it in the program?
In every version until now, even after removing/deleting the battery sensor from
the device list, the tray kept showing the battery status nevertheless.
(and froze just like the others after a while)
I unerstand that there would probably be no AC detection, but I don't use the feature anyway..
Just a quieter fan would be enough.

As of v19 the problem seemed (tested it briefly) gone, but only under Win7 x64.
    -----

    Regarding the undervolting:
same here, just as [Barsk] says, my voltage keeps jumping from 0.925 to 1.05,
    regardless of the setting.

There was something about the fan and the temperature, but I forgot :D.

    Cheers.

Ok, would it work for the SU4100 then? Why would not 0.875 V work for SU4100?

Yes, the read cpu diode box is checked. I tried unchecking it, put other fields in focus, push Enter etc. But every time I return to the settings dialog it is 105 degrees again...

I'm fairly certain Phil was running his 1810TZ with XP and he noted the following (taken from the 14/1810T/Z Timeline Tweaks thread):

"Recommended by Der_Mali, not by Phil:
    Battery Bar
Much more accurate than Vista's battery life predictions
    http://osirisdevelopment.com/BatteryBar/
Phil had issues with Battery Bar on his 1810tz and advises not to install it. For more battery information use RMClock."

Perhaps you are facing a similar problem?

1810tray use only highlevel functions from .NET framework like:
    SystemInformation.PowerStatus.BatteryLifePercent

    to read the batterylife

    ref: http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/library/hxkc1kwd.aspx

if that harm your rig than you has maybe a missconfigured OS

its more likely that batterybar cause problem. because its directly talks to the driver !!

ive read back through the thread and didnt see this, but i am concerned about having so many options i dont understand.
is it possible for somebody to explain or link me to information that will help me understand some of the new options like: CPU diode, CTjmax, undervolting and overclocking

is it safe to leave everything on default? or do i need to find the right values for my machine?

    thanks

    Yeah, I've read about that..
The strange thing is that it keeps happening without Batterybar,
usually several minutes after starting 1810tray  (windows battery meter freezes)

    @inteks:
there was no actual 'harm' done (so far :D), it's merely an inconvenience, I would say ;)
misconfigured system? -shouldn't be.. (but hey, you never know; maybe it's aliens :D)
I guess, I'll just live with that.

CPU Diode means read temp directliy from the CPU instead of Acer Controlchip

TjMax is the a Value from intel for each CPU the value read from CPU is to subtract from the TjMax to get the CPU temp. the SU3500 cpu has 105 °C
(105°C should be *save* in every case because its the highest tjmax i know)

overclocking works only if you unlock your clockgen via TME mod

undervolting keeps the Voltage of your cpu at minimum. cooler notebook more batterylife.

default should be fine but hold an eye on temps for a view days.

i am completely new in those topics.

can you help me to install 1810tray on win 7 x64?

there is no install file at ver. 22 and if i start it manually it won't start automatically at next win log even if i put the hook (i am from german..) in the options (log on automatically..).

    thx

    best regards

There's no stopping this man

Well, we're one step closer; with v21, voltage was unaffected. @idle, VID was .900V (6x multiplier, 1.2GHz cores) and under load, it ramped up to 1.000V (6.5x / 1.3GHz).

With ver 22, it "freezes" VID at .900V, even under load :) but regardless what voltage you select, it always holds at .900V. I went down to 0.800 which would have lead to a BSOD (under load), just to make sure CPUID was reporting correctly. No BSOD, so I guess it's really @.900V.

Still, a step in the right direction and .900 is better than 1.00V ;)

if 0.900 is the lowest cpuid report then you cant go lower.
you can select voltages between 0.9 and 1.0

if you do the hardware undervolting mod it could be that 0.9 is to low if you like to overclock, then you could set the lowest to i.e 0.925

Switch to another profile and then you can see the results. In powersaving it is always 0.875V afaik.

As soon as the multiplier goes up, my voltage switches to 0.95V instead of 1.038V. => Working fine here. ;)

Sorry, my fault - that was unclear! Of course it does not go down but up. However instead of going up to 1.038V it just goes up to 0.95V. => In idle state at 800MHz it is just 0.875V.

I tried to keep the voltage at 0.875V all the time but the system became unstable, so I went a little bit higher & everything is prime-stable now.

    => See screenshot...

the first start. should be as administrator with right click. so that 1810tray has the permision to create the task.
check the taskscheduler. there should be a task for 1810tray at logon.

wow nice fan control but i have still one issue is the volt control really works on su4100 processor?

in the tray it sys 0.900

but my cpu-z tells core vid is 0.925
when the cpu speed increase the voltage also increase to 1.xxx volt so i dont think it working properly for me

its a timer that check/set back the VID.

windows set the the high value for the VID if CPU usage goes up.

its possible that you see 1.038v for short time, but if you use i.e. prime to stress your CPU it should go back to 0.925 after a short time and stays at 0.925V

if 1810tray is not running it stays at 1.038v

    -manage GFX Powersettings
-safe overclocking (if TME modded) 1810tray switch the powersetting to maxperformance -> call setfsb -> set the old powersetting ;)

-use services like devices for profiles. i.e. disable all wifi services if you disable wifi card or disable all network related services if you disable all networkcard or whatever . .

I'll add my thanks (along with the rest of the crowd following this thread) for a really handy utility.

My request is (I hope) a simple one: Could you add something that shows the version #, while the utility is running? I'd just like to be able to see which version is the one I'm currently running.

Most applications do that in a Help/About box, which doesn't really fit for this utility, but if the version just appeared on one of the screen tabs, that would be great. (Unless this already exists somewhere, and I've missed it?)

You mind updating the release notes sometime?

inteks, thanks again for your great little program. the newest version works like a charm.

I do have one question. I understand that the last version that used AcerEC to read the temp was ver16 and the newer ones use core temp (Tjunction). But at times I feel a bit more comfortable with AcerEC values, even if it may read higher temps. Is it possible to select AcerEC readings in the newer versions, or is that out of the question? Thanks in advance.

i dont have vers. 16 anymore because the problem with coretemp are fixed by a biosupdate i thought we dont need acerec temp anymore. acerec temp is so unreliable . . .

    Hmm thats weird.

I got a 1810T with 3303 bios and with the 16th version i had Idle temps of 42 Degrees.

When i install the new ones , i`m 10 degrees below. Is that normal?

I also cant find how to save any changes i make to the settings tab!

I could just use a higher value - where 105 is as default setting- but even if i change the value to 115 for example i can`t save it!

    Thanks mate

you are right. saving tjmax seems to be broken :(
i fix it in a next version..

you can change it via registry. goto

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Inteks\1810tray

    set tjmax to 115
