I am trying to undervolting SU7300,
but RMclock dose not have FID 6.5x...it causes the cpu to run at 1.2MHz..
I found that cpugenie has FID 6.5x
But it is only for 30days.. -

The ION chipset is wonderful (I use ASRock 330 Nettops for XBMC under Ubuntu) but depending on what you're using your netbook/notebook for, having a dual-core UCLV Intel C2D based CPU could make a world of difference. Hope this helps!

As for the drivers, let Windows 7 install first. Then hunt down the remaining drivers you need. Windows 7 (x64) installed fine on my 1810T when I did a fresh install and the only drivers I really needed were for the Intel 5100 (or 1000, or whichever Intel WiFi card is in it).
In regards to virtualization (Intel VT-x) on the SU4100... No go. CPU doesn't support it. That's one of the major differences between the SU4100 and the SU7300. SU4100 was "baked" *without* VT-x. Sorry!

And about the VT, too bad, but it doesn't matter. I have yet to find an application that doesn't work for me on windows 7. -
Fortunately, the HDD ribbon is not what broke in my case. It was the clear plastic securing the HDD (see pic 2).
The part (tiny black plastic loop that holds the white plastic) that secures the ribbon to the motherboard in pic 1 is what breaks easily. Do not try to lift both sides at once (there is slight resistance, then snaps off- this is where it is likely to break) and don't use a screwdriver. -
About the bloatware... are there any useful aplications that I would miss if I install windows 7 professional?

Just two more questions for you (plz), how many "shades of white" would you say the model has...? What I'm getting at is if the battery matches the case exactly, or just "close", etc. Ditto for the base vs. the panel (monitor bezel). I'm not a big fan of "multi shades", etc...
Also everyone says the palmrest is not aluminum but plastic... is that true with the white model too? The pics make it look so real... :-/

I'm going to "sleep on it" tonight, but I will either take the white or red SU4100+WWAN package; either way, ALTERNATE already "warned" me that delivery times are estimated at SIX weeks...(...which means it makes for a bad Xmas-gift idea because the time-window is way to small...). -
Anyway, I just bought one at comtech.de ( http://www.comtech.de/product_info.php?pID=342535), because I needed a german shop (can purchause there without MwSt.). Cheap postage fees, only 10€ to Austria, 12,50€ if you pay with Paypal! Price is also quite good, 559€.
It says shipping date unknown. But that side is an official Acer partner, and Austrian shops are already selling it. So I'd guess that the comtech online shop is just not up to date and they are able to ship it immediately.
Let's hope I have it next week. Will give you a detailed description of it then, looks like I'll be the first to own a LX.SA202.008 here

Just received my 1410 (w/ su2300 and win7) for $379. I like the look. A few questions:
1) How can I create a backup image without burning a DVD (so that I don't have to buy a USB burner)?
2) Any sleeve recommendation?
3)Why I can only shrink c drive to 69G? which leave me only another 70G to use.
4)Can I ask for a win7 set up disk from Acer or I have to buy it? I remember Dell does offer system disk by mail.

Can you guys give a quick comment on the AS1410 build quality/noise/battery life?
The more I try the harder it gets to choose between the AS1410 and the Asus UL20A -
Its nice to see the battery color matches the case for the white model, because for the blue/black, it certainly doesn't!
Now I think I'll have to splurge on a white one during my next business trip to ItalyI'll go near Milan (Agrate), so do you have any suggestions for a shop to buy it directly from -- if thats what you meant by "order it directly from the nearest shop". I wouldn't know my way around Italy much and I'll be there for about a week, so do you have any suggestions for where to buy this from?

Hi. I've been looking at these for a while. I accidently posted this in the single core thread, so I'm reposting it here. I've been reading both threads for quite a while.
I have a few questions. Has anyone seen a comparison of the SU2300 to the SU4100 or SU7300 other than the passmark scores?
And more importantly, has anyone tried the directv2pc software with these? I have been able to get an older version running on my atom netbook, but it can't handle the HD shows. The newer versions of the software promise gpu acceleration, but it doesn't look like the intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card is supported. I was wondering if the cpu power alone would be sufficient to play back HD shows. Of course, you would need to have a DirecTV HD DVR to test this. The software is here.

Are there any versions of this series that have integrated Bluetooth, but no 3G?
So far I thought that one doesn't come without the other.

Yup, I was really hoping Asus wouldn't drop the ball, because I really liked their chassis design, but it didn't make any rational sense for after they dropped HDMI and bluetooth. Plus, its a little heavier than the 1810t and at least from the pics looks thicker...
All in all, there's no real competition in the market for the 1810t(z), for the discerning buyer, IMO -
